Jane and Louis Grubb, their daughter Sarah, and Sarahâs husband Sergio Furno have been crowned best artisan producer at the BlĂĄs na hĂireann 2025 food awards.
It is yet another prestigious award to add to a collection accrued over the decades since 1984 when they first launched on of Irelandâs iconic cheeses, Cashel Blue.
But they are still in the dark about this impending accolade when @jozeemac visits several weeks earlier.

It's been 2 weeks since the launch of One Plate for Palestine and the reach has been far greater than we ever could have hoped.
We've had over 180 food businesses cook with us in 22 different counties, as well as abroad in the Basque Country, Scotland and even as far as Brazil and Australia.
Numerous private individuals all over Ireland hosted dinners at home and more dinner parties are planned throughout August.
And weâre not done yet. One Plate for Palestine is still running in a number of venues across Ireland and there are still more places signing up (weâll keep you posted here, so that you can support them).
We also hear that New York will see some One Plate pop-ups thanks to @fatbabybakes .
Weâll be taking part in the Theatre of Drinks at Electric Picnic at the end of August to contribute to a panel discussion with some of our mixologist participants. This is another great platform to keep the conversation going about Palestine and we hope raise additional funds for Gaza. Â Â
Donations are nearly three times our original target at âŹ69,000, but we can do more!
If youâd still like to get involved, please get in touch. Please note - it doesnât have to be food related - if you want to get your non-food businesses involved or organise a workplace challenge, or simply make a donation for the price of a dish, weâll be keeping donations open until September 1st. Â
With the humanitarian crisis worsening and Israel announcing its intention to fully take over the Gaza Strip, Palestine needs our help now more than ever - letâs keep the conversation going and use our collective voices to speak up for Palestine, and help bring an end to the suffering and forced starvation.
A massive thank you to everyone who has joined us and to everyone who has donated!

A @CorkCityCouncil festival run in partnership with local businesses. Supported by @irelandsancienteast@thewildatlanticway@Pure_Cork@CorkAirport@corkihf@cba_cork@Irish_Examiner@Corksredfm
One Plate for Palestine officially ends today, but the reaction has been so immense that we are keeping donations open to the end of August to allow people to still get involved.
So if you had plans to host a dinner party, or a food business that would still like to do something, there's still time.
We'll continue to post recipes to give inspiration for dishes and to keep the spotlight on the amazing Palestinian culture, which is at risk of being eradicated along with its people.
We'd like to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who turned up for Palestine this week and who continue to turn up week in week out.
Together, we've proved we have a powerful voice - let's not stop here. Let's raise our voices even louder and spread the message wider. We'd love to see our fellow food businesses across the water taking up the baton. If any of our hospitality friends in London or anywhere in the UK want to get involved, please let us know.
Thanks for helping us feed hope to the people of Palestine đľđ¸

Many of you cooking for Palestine at home this weekend will be making flatbreads. So we asked Eman Abu Rabi from Cork's wonderful Izz CafĂŠ for a recipe that would be easy to make at home.
Thanks Eman for taking the time to share this recipe with One Plate for Palestine!
We are humbled to see how many of you will be getting involved from home, cooking for friends and family this weekend, inspired by the recipes weâve been sharing and just wanting to do something to help. Thank you for your support and humanity!
And if you canât do it this weekend, donations will be open until he end of August, so you can pick a date in August that suits you. Tag your friends and get them to do the same!

One Plate for Palestine went live yesterday and already donations are flying in - we're blown away by how generous people are being. THANK YOU!
We also love the fact that people are donating the price of a dish - this is amazing!
So if you can't make it to any of the participating restaurants or food businesses this week, then you can still donate - just scan the QR code and donate the price of a dish - it could be âŹ10, âŹ12, âŹ15, or more- itâs entirely up to you.
Thanks again to everyone who is supporting this by cooking, baking, making, promoting, donating - it doesnât matter how you do it, every gesture counts.

One Plate for Palestine has officially launched!
It's so heartwarming to see the whole map filling up as more and more places reach out to get involved.
We're currently at over 120 with new sign ups happening daily. There's still time to get involved - be it as a business or an individual at home. We'd love everyone to cook with us for Palestine!
New additions have been added to this post (see image 2 and 3), but click on the map in our bio to see the full picture. If you don't see your business on the map, let us know that you'd like to be added (register via link in bio). And of course, we have to give a special mention to our friends in Kerry Street Pear Tree CafĂŠ in Western AUSTRALIA who are also cooking with us this week!
Thanks to everyone who is joining us this week - your humanity is shining a light for our brothers and sisters in Palestine
And remember to share your dishes and recipes with us!

One Plate for Palestine is proud to support Gaza go Bragh @gazagobragh (Gaza Forever) - an Irish grassroots humanitarian organisation who are getting vital supplies to displaced families in Gaza.
The organization's work is driven by a team of Irish and Palestinian volunteers who operate on the ground in Gaza. They are doing an amazing job from the inside, buying tanks of desalinated water, food and other essential supplies in Gaza and delivering them to where its most needed.
They have a particular focus on migratory refugee camps. They also assist with evacuations and other urgent needs. They continue on their work no matter how dangerous or challenging it is.
Today they are beginning their next food distribution to feed sick children in Al-Rantisi Hospital.
At the end of the One Plate for Palestine campaign, we will donate the funds collected to Gaza go Bragh - as well as TEA Collective (see yesterdayâs post)
After July 27th when the campaign is over, we are inviting all participants to donate the funds they have raised to our iDonate page (link in bio) and from there the money will be distributed to Gaza go Bragh and TEA Collective.
When donating, it would be great if you could to give the name of your business or name of event (for private individuals) so that we can align the donations with the registrations.
We have decided to keep the donations open till the end of August to allow people who are away next week to participate when they are back. Therefore the drawdown date will be Monday 1st September.
Weâd like to thank everyone in Gaza go Bragh in Ireland and Palestine for their hard work, courage and above all their humanity â¤ď¸
