For the past few years now on Fridays I’ve been challenging myself to create a graphic celebrating the fact that the weekend was here. As time went on it’s almost become a “high five” to everyone who was also looking forward to the weekend.
The idea for the project came from the song by Kimo Kahoano. Growing up, my mom would hum it every Friday and now I do the same.
Most of the time the aesthetics of my Aloha Friday graphics aren’t the typical ones you’d expect to see. I’m a huge fan of the Bauhaus movement so this is an ode to that style. Pairing the Bauhaus aesthetics with the Aloha Friday message is something I enjoy about it all since it’s such an odd pairing. -Noa @joystain

JUST LANDED: The Holiday Surf Capsule
While most of the world is hibernating in winter, the ocean is just waking up. That’s when some of the biggest waves across the globe turn on and the locals have frigid, icy peaks all to themselves. In honor of these highly anticipated winter conditions, we’ve teamed up with two artists, Chris Kemp (@sea_kemp ) and Noa Emberson (@joystain ), to build out a collection of winter surf-inspired graphic tees for the holidays.
