Ps. The crown is from the Moscova Libri e Robe collection, worn by Elisa Tromben for Salomé in the early 1900s.
Gregory shot these and says they should stay on contact sheets, no access to everything. Very him, very another generation. You don’t need to see it all, choose it all, or even understand it. Some things stay just out of reach and that’s the point. Or maybe they’re just bad shots and I’m not at my best….
Finally horizontal again 🛏️! 💤
Salone in one week is a lot. There’s a lot to see and a lot you miss. The best parts for me are still the small projects. Less money, more clarity. You can feel when something is real. I skipped many openings and previews. No one can do it all with two legs and 24 hours a day. I still think it should last longer two, three weeks (?) so the work can breathe and maybe be seen with more care? But of course… rents, costs…
I’m very happy with our show with Elefteria. We always tell this story: we met in Tokyo. It started with good haircuts and talks about moving there and ended up in collaborations.
Our first project was the Library Project at Alcova 2025: a horizontal library, one table per book, a quiet way to discover books done by artists. Simple and honest. (Funny how big productions echo these ideas later… I’ve seen a version this year….)
I keep saying this: Elefteria is a great gallerist. The way she talks about her artists is precise, clear, and alive. I’ve heard the tour many times and it still holds. This year she brought a strong mix of Greek artists, modern, contemporary with international ones and some traditional pieces. The exhibition is around ceramics. It was a real collaboration with her, her team and all the collaborators she brought on board. (I’ll let her tag them, she loves that!)
Grazie @eleftheriatseliou ❤️
Salone is over but the show stays until the end of May for those who missed it ❤️ @eleftheriatseliou@thegreatdesigndisaster
