Part of the reason I never want to go to bed when I camp on the coast- you might miss a late night wolf encounter!
Also, a reason to camp with people that care about you and will wake you up for the things you love:)
Bear safety art. Kodiak-inspired, but not Kodiak-bound.
Images can be so helpful in communicating ideas in digestible ways. The USFWS Kodiak Refuge, Alaska Geographic, and Sarah K. Glaser Illustration supported me in turning this idea of mine into a reality.
And they’re supporting making these images available to anyone that could use them to benefit humans and bears 💛 If you know someone who could use any of these, let them know we want the images to be useful!

More time on public lands 🤩
Canyoneering in Robbers Roost and Capitol Reef National Park
Thankful for these beautiful spots and these adventurous spirits
Some of the most important people in my life 💛 Just back from a week at the International Association for Bear Research and Management conference, where I got to reconnect with friends and colleagues (including so many not pictured here).. and, my advisor received a much-deserved lifetime achievement award. True to his character, he gave the credit to others. So fortunate to have worked with and called this bunch of yayhoos friends for over 15 years!
