On the eve the of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and the BBC’s coverage - I’m delighted to share with you a very special episode of Roots from @the_rhs 🌷
When @themontydon invites you to Longmeadow for a tour of his garden, it would be churlish to say no.. It was like being invited to step into Narnia and equally as magical to explore.
Over a cup of tea and biscuits Monty shares a very personal reflection on the power and value of gardening and nature in his own life. And of course, I got to hang out with naughty Ned..days really don’t get much better.
I’m also reflecting on this time last year when @themontydon and @plantsman_jamie gave us the @bbcradio2 Dog Garden at Chelsea. Such a thrill to have been involved with and what a special garden it turned out to be 🐶

We could listen to Dame Judi Dench reciting Shakespeare in her garden for hours!
In the third episode of RHS Roots, @jowhiley spends time with legendary actor Judi Dench in her garden, chatting about her fear of worms, growing vegetables in her parents' wartime garden and her orchard where she plants trees for anyone she loves who has passed away. Dame Judi shares her love of her garden despite her deteriorating eyesight, saying she can’t see it, but she knows it's there 🌳
