Journey's very own Gare-Bear! Preparing to ease into the semi-retired life with loads of great memories with the team. He promises to keep out of trouble... (do we believe him? 🤔) 10/10 is absolutely right. We'll miss seeing Gary on the daily and his patient and thoughtful explanations on 3D modeling (why something has to be here, not there) and the best (I.e., most logical and efficient) piping layouts! We wanted to share some #exhilirating highlights of our team members during an #intense 100-mile #marathon relay race last weekend! (Yes, that's right, 100 miles = 161 kms for all us Canucks) 🤯 Inspired by the treacherous Seven Sisters Mountain that looms over much of this very unique racecourse, this event is the one and only "Sinister 7 Ultra" (@sinister_sports ) hosted in beautiful, scenic #CrowsnestPass... at the same time also featuring 6,600 m of #elevation gain paired with rugged terrain. Scroll through to witness this huge #achievement 🥇 by some of the Journey Team (Scott, David, Talha, Kyle) and friends (Melissa, Josh, Anna)! Kudos to: • Placing 76th out of 187 teams that finished the race • Running for 24h straight (the race limit is 30h!) • Starting at 7:00 am Saturday / Finishing at 7:00 am Sunday This is certainly the #experience of a lifetime, but who knows... they may do it again! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️ #journeyengineering 👣

It was finally beautiful enough weather for our 2 winners of the Spectacular Prize Draw (from the Journey Staff Christmas Party) to redeem their experiences! David and @scottie_run_adventure took our prize winners Harris and Steven G. to Canada’s Premier Shotgun Sports Facility, @silverwillowsportingclays , for an action-filled, adrenaline-pumping afternoon! 🎯 Truthfully, everyone is a baseline level of cool… but you really enter another bracket when you go shooting at moving clay targets AND manage to hit them. Our very own Jr. Civil E.I.T. @izzy.durand (graduate of @usask ) recently competed in the Canadian National Steel Bridge Competition (#CNSBC)! It was held at @umanitoba on May 21-24. For the 2024-2025 year, Isabelle was the Communication/Marketing Executive on the #USBT @sasksteelbridge team. There are a total of ~25 team members, with 10 members who got to attend the competition in person! Here’s a quick overview of how the competition works: Day 1: • Aesthetics Judging: Bridge set-up, questions from the judges, discussion with other teams. • Elevator Pitch: One member of the team trying to "sell" the bridge. • Oral Presentation: Technical presentation directed towards the hypothetical "bridge engineer". This consisted of a 5-minute presentation, with a 5-minute question period. • The bridge is judged on its balance, proportion, elegance, and finish. 🎉USBT #won this category! 🥇 Day 2: • Construction: Team constructs the bridge as quickly as possible; penalties assessed for dropping bolts/members. • Lightness: Determining the bridge with the least total weight. • Load Testing: Lateral load testing and aggregate deflection. • Deconstruction: Timed deconstruction of the bridge; penalties assessed for dropping bolts/members. #journeyengineering

Canstruction Lethbridge ( @canstruction_yql ) began "a long time ago in a galaxy [not so] far, far away..." which happens to be the year 2011! Thank you @bb4ck for welcoming us back last month! We thoroughly enjoyed making lunches for Calgary’s kids and learned a little bit more about this passionate #community of dedicated volunteers, parents, school staff, donors, and of course the core BB4CK staff. So... short side story: During our shift, we were asked if anyone wanted to try fixing a tool that stopped working. Naturally all of us wanted a go, but the engineers JUMPED at the opportunity, hands waving wildly in the air. We just love our staff!
