It’s nice to meet you! I’m Joanna, the founder of Jo’s Paper Kitchen. I started this company in 2013 with a desire to serve couples in north Houston after a move from Southern California. I was surprised to find no “cute envelopes” at all in my area. 💌 Did I have experience running a business? No Did I have formal graphic design training? No Did I have a lot of free time? No (I had a 3 year old and found out I was pregnant 2 weeks after I started the business- fun times) However, what I did have was the support of my husband David, friends cheering me on and plenty of open doors to give it a shot. As the wedding industry in our area grew, so did this little business. What started over a pile of T-shirts in Old Navy and a friend of a friend stalking me on Facebook (good story) has turned into a passion for helping engaged couples, mother’s of the bride or groom, trusted industry friends and planners create keepsakes that will be cherished for years, stunning details and accents for special occasions. I love being in the kitchen in my home and cooking without a strict recipe or plan. I trust my instincts and know my flavors. I know who I am creating for and what they love to enjoy. That’s the same attitude I bring to design and invitations in my “paper kitchen”. I want to hear about your celebration and whip something up that will be uniquely yours and memorable. After almost 10 years of working with over 500 couples I launched the Curated Collection. These are some of the most popular designs that have stood the test of time. You can customize to allow for the right pieces that will share what you need in your invitation suite. Choose your own colors and select the font that you like the best. Add onto your suite to allow for an elevated suite with embellishments like envelope liners, wax seals, foil accents, and even full addressing, assembly and mailing services. We have our design templates organized into 3 categories. Classic, Romantic, and Modern designs allow for an option that suits any couple. The collection offers no design fees for offered suites. Minimum order is 30 suites so this is perfect for smaller events. The turnaround time can be done quickly to accommodate a pressed timeline. We want to be your stationery and design bestie. From the moment you are engaged we would love to walk with you through the whole process from designing your perfect Save the Date, elegant and special invitation suites that wow your guests before they even arrive, and personal details that are helpful and set the mood for your celebration. There are no rules or restrictions, if we can dream it up then we can figure that out. If it’s printed we likely have a vendor that we can source it from. We start with a blank page and create something that is special for you. You’re shown proofs and mock ups along the way to help you visualize what each piece will look like. It all starts with a consultation in our studio or online. Bring your partner, planner, mom or bestie. I walk you through all the options and offer my best advice for how to communicate your details beautifully for your guests. My goal with all invitations is for you to love it now and in 20 years to still love it. Couples spend a minimum of $5000 when using this service.

How do I even begin to describe how incredible my mom is? She is my biggest supporter and my partner in everything, always ready to help with a smile. From the early days of JPK as the “childcare division” to now helping with ribbons and liners, she shows up for it all and still stays for dinner. Designed around the theme “A Love Match in April,” we brought the concept to life with a custom bracket-style layout—guiding guests to their tables as if they were part of the match itself. Acrylic can take up to 200 years to decompose, which is a long time for something used for just one day. And sad to say...nobody is gonna be married in 200 years. 🤨 That’s why at Jo’s Paper Kitchen, we choose not to offer acrylic pieces. We want your wedding paper to feel intentional from the start, not something that adds to unrecyclable waste after the celebration is over.
