This weird little insect sure can dance 🕺 Meet the Woolly Aphid, the dancing queen of the woods — a tiny sap-feeding insect that often looks more like floating cotton/fuzz than an actual bug. That white fluffy coating on its body helps make it look like a tiny forest dust bunny, but the best part is what happens when it feels disturbed. Instead of running away like a normal insect, the Woolly Aphid starts rhythmically swaying back and forth — a strange defensive behaviour that’s by thought to confuse predators. Basically, nature made a bug whose survival strategy is COMMENCE HEADBANGING! One of the weirdest & funniest insect behaviours I’ve ever filmed. Can you spot the phone shots? I shot this project for @KiaUSA , brought on by the talented creator @asenseofhuber , it was a whirlwind project in which we only had a couple days to film everything you see here (and some extras that didn’t make the cut). It was a team of just myself and Kyle so we had to be ultra efficient about every decision we made and set ups had to be lighting quick in order to capture everything we needed. Many times a proper cinema-camera setup just wouldn’t be possible in the time constraints, so I leaned on my iPhone 15 Pro Max to fill the gaps and capture setups in a 1/4 of the time it would normally take. I used the @moment video app to capture in 4K ProRes LOG, as well as a variable ND, CPL and 1/4 black pro mist diffusion filter to make it look as close as possible to my cinema camera that was capturing the rest of the content: the @LumixUSA S1RII with Lumix Pro glass, shot in 6k prores HQ to an external SSD. I think they ended up matching seamlessly and I’ve been in awe since getting this phone that I have a device in my pocket that can capture video for high-end productions. Huge shout-out to @collin_fpv who helped us capture the drone footage, as well as offered up his gear truck to use for shooting the rollers of the Kia Telluride, to Kyle for bringing me on this project and trusting me to shoot/direct/edit and to Kia USA for giving us creative freedom to make something special in the short amount of time. These graphics are gettin’ wild 👀 My take on the GTA in real life effect that you’ve probably seen many times but l’ve never seen the camera perspective change like this and thought it was a neat. @cbenfey helped me capture this by following the BMW M8 on his @onewheel while holding an @insta360 camera on a long pole. Then for the drone tracking shot we filmed that with an old @djiglobal Mavic 2 and then I tracked it in After Effects to get that locked-on look. And the most ridiculous shot was getting the POV where I literally just put the 360 camera in my mouth as I was driving😬 Thanks @bluerose.films for capturing some bts of us in action. Motorcycle season has begun🤘 @insta360 cameras have been such a fun tool for capturing unique visuals when I’m out riding - it’s super easy to clamp to my bike and allows me to craft practically any type of shot when I’m editing. In this video I’m using 👇 Insta360 X4 with the premium lens protectors Heavy Duty Motorcycle Mount Motorcycle Support Clamp Action Invisible Selfie Stick I shot everything in 8k video at 30fps, with auto settings but -0.7 exposure to retain as much highlight information as possible in the sky. Everything was reframed using the Insta360 Premiere Pro Plugin. This is gonna be a big off-road trails year for me, I’m beyond hyped 🤘 And for those curious, the dual-sport I’m riding here is the rare BMW G450x (yes bmw made dirt bikes for a brief period from 2009-2010).

When I’m traveling, there’s always an @insta360 camera with me 🎥🌎 The X4 is by far the most versatile camera in my kit, you can film just about anything and figure out what you want to turn the footage onto while editing. I keep my camera bag as lightweight and well thought out as I can, the X4 and invisible selfie stick barely takes up any room and allows me to capture drone-like shots, 360 timelapses, impossible looking reframed video, action-cam style pov and a whole lot more. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to some pretty surreal places and I’m so thankful to be able to look back at this 360 footage and create something new with it again and again. The Lunar Eclipse captured on video at 1000mm in real time. All the shots you see of the Moon that I captured are not sped up, that is actually just how quickly the Moon moves through the frame when shooting video at this extreme focal length. I captured everything on the @LumixUSA S1Rii in 8k video to get as much detail as possible. It was truly a sight to behold, seeing the moon disappear behind shadow only to reappear as this glowing orange sphere. Who’d a thought a 10ft pole could do so much? If you were to ask me what’s the number one piece of gear I’d recommend for 360 video shooting then it’s 1000% the @insta360 Extended Selfie Stick. I’ve been using this 10ft. extending pole for years now and it’s the most versatile product they make. You can get absolutely insane shots thanks to the extra reach you get and it can hold up to whatever I throw at it thanks to the carbon fibre construction. For automotive 360 video, getting shots quickly and efficiently is the name of the game, for me anyway. Being able to put an X4 camera out of the window to get impossible shots in mere seconds is why I love this setup so much.
