My first solo feature, The Mother, The Menacer and Me, is now available for rent on Apple and Amazon.
Filmmaking is a lot like cooking - you can taste if someone loved what they made for you. Were they willing to stay up late preparing for it, did they agonize over the perfect ingredients, and did they invite the right people to join them in the kitchen.
We made this film in a hot house in June of 2024, over the course of 20 breathless days. Amateur pilots from a regional airport flew constantly overhead. But, despite the heat and noise, I can’t get over how many smiles I saw every day from the crew. Every person on the production was discerning, selective, and trained to the degree of being able to make decisions on reflex. But most of all, I think we were all rife with gratitude at being able to, impossibly, make a indie feature film in post-strike Los Angeles in 2024.
