THE TURN OF THE SCREW: ACT I FINALE
We are proud to release this clip of our 2025 production of Benjamin Britten’s masterpiece The Turn of the Screw, directed by Jonny Danciger and conducted by Joe Davies, captured during performances of the opera on 29th and 30th August 2025 at Victoria Hall, Grange-over-Sands.
When a young, impressionable Governess takes a job caring for two young children, all seems the picture of perfection at their countryside estate. But all is not well, and cracks in their behaviour begin to reveal an increasingly troubled past that refuses to be buried. Flora and Miles’ imaginations should be boundless and bright, but what happens when this innocence is compromised? This production, inspired by Catherine Storr’s novel Marianne Dreams, places the imagination of the children at the heart of the story.
