Stadsbyggnadskontoret nekade bygglovet: området har ett skyddat industriellt utseende, och tydligen betyder det: grått. Så grått blir det.
Det här är mitt sista rop på hjälp: om någon bryr sig om den här muralen, bor på den här gatan, eller uppskattar vad den handlar om: dela! Berätta för folk! Skriv till politiker! Ring din politiker-faster!
Jag måste måla över den i slutet av maj.
Men om staden vill se förbi de här grå reglerna och ta del av mina 170 enkätsvar, som överväldigande vill behålla muralen, kanske de tänker om!
Och om det ändå måste vara grått, kan vi åtminstone ha en intressant offentlig diskussion om gatukonst och vem som får bestämma.

Yes, it’s true. I have to take down the mural at Telefonplan.
The Stadsbyggnadskontor denied the permit, the area has a protected industrial look, and apparently that means: gray. So gray it goes.
So this is my last plea: if anyone cares about this mural, lives on this street, or enjoys what it’s about: share! Tell people! Write to politicians! Call your politician aunt!
I will have to paint over it at the end of May.
But if the city wants to look past these gray rules and consider my 170 survey responses, which overwhelmingly want to keep this mural, maybe they will reconsider!
And if it has to be gray, at least we can have an interesting public discussion about public art and who gets to decide.

THE IMPACT OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE: Jonna’s master project at @konstfack in Stockholm. 40mx15,5m
@jonnabolammers : ‘’Often in mainstream media, sexual violence is depicted from the perspective of the harasser. Articles on sexual harassment are frequently accompanied by stock photos of a woman holding up her hands in resistance, almost as if inviting viewers to adopt the perspective of the harasser. POV: you are sexually assaulting someone. There is also a huge emphasis on resisting, it begs the question with survivors: ‘did I do enough to stop my assault? Was it my fault?’ When this is the only way sexual violence is visualised, this becomes the only truth. A unempathetic, guild-ridden truth.
So much is wrong with these one dimensional interpretations. I think a change of perspective is necessary.
This mural is a part of that change of perspective. I want to change to way sexual violence is depicted and make work that is empathetic to survivors, without guilt, but still showing the impact of it. ’’

Part one of our work for the @turning_thetide_ residency!
At @stadsgardsterminalen , Slussen (Stockholm).
A residency about Creative Actions for Climate Emergencies.
During this residency, Jonna moved onto a boat on lake Mälaren, which was also the focus of the residency. Right when she started painting, the water filtration system broke. It felt like a cosmic joke, thinking about water for three weeks while not having any at home. It definitely made the painting period harder, but it also made her realise even more clearly the real-life consequences of the residency!

From our recent open call for two Stockholm-based artists, we are proud to announce the first artist in Residence for Turning the Tide @turning_thetide_ at Stadsgårdsterminalen @stadsgardsterminalen :
Jonna Bo Lammers @jonnabolammers , based in Stockholm, is a Dutch illustrator and muralist, and one half of the muralist duo VAAF @vaaf.nl Her work is bold, colorful, and large-scale, often addressing pressing social issues—particularly feminist themes. Using color and ornamentation, she draws viewers in, making complex subjects more accessible and engaging.
Over the coming months, Jonna will be creating a site-specific work at Stadsgårdsterminalen on the themes of climate justice, urban development, and collective resilience, in close dialogue with local communities.
📅 Save the date: The final presentation will take place on October 17, 2025, during Stockholm International Lab.
We’re excited to welcome Jonna to Turning the Tide and look forward to sharing her work with you!
