Tonight, Jon Gott opens Dunes ā a one-night-only occupation of the Brooklyn Centre Firehouse next door to SHED.
The work is quiet and somehow booming. Restrained. Bare. A love story told through orchids, architecture, atmosphere, and presence. Something about slowing down enough to notice the strange relationships between living things and the spaces we move through.
Join us tonight from 5ā9 PM as SHED and the historic firehouse become temporarily entangled.
Cookout on the lawn with burgers by Elliot at 5:30.
akeylah wellingtonās my new build! remains on view at SHED.
Special thank you to Edgar at Windswept in Time Orchids for helping bring this project to life.

Something struck me this week with great magnitude. When the gourd embryo develops during germination, after the radical and hypocotyl emerge and the seed coat is ejected, you can go back into the hole and retrieve the open jacket before it gets broken down. Itās an interference that wonāt affect the plant, but has compelled me somehow, leaving an urgent feeling I donāt understand.
Iām carrying this feeling with me into the firehouse on Pearl Road as I go in to prepare for my one night only enchanted occupation of the structure, Iām calling Dunes, happening tomorrow evening from 5-9 PM. Itās something to do with slowing down and locking into the rhythms of living beings. The strangeness of our interactions.
The work is quiet and funerary, but also somehow booming. Itās a love story. Itās the most restrained thing Iāve ever made and I love that. Only three elements are used. Something is going on inside me thatās cutting through all the bullshit and stripping things bare, leaving only whatās essential.
Join us for a cookout on the lawn, and the galleries @shedprojects_ will be open also. See u there!
Thursday, yāall can catch us next door. Weāre honored to be taking over the historic Brooklyn Centre Firehouse to present a special ONE NIGHT ONLY Jon Gott activation. Extending outward from SHED Projects, Dunes continues an ongoing inquiry into how domestic space can expand, seep, and reframe its surroundingsātesting the boundaries between private and public, interior and exterior, built and organic.
Join us for this event, burgers & evening open hours at SHED.

In one week, join us next door. SHED presents Dunes, a one-night-only presentation of new work by Jon Gott, opening Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 5ā9 PM at the historic Brooklyn Centre Firehouse, adjacent to SHED Projects.
Dunes explores exposure across multiple registers: the opening of the buildingās interior, the presence of living forms within it, and the ways their interactions become legibleāor not. The firehouse is treated not as a backdrop, but as a body we are invited to pass through, its layered biological and architectural systems encountered in varying states of legibility and mystery. These systems do not resolve into a single reading; they press against one another, at times aligning, at times remaining indifferent.
