In October 2025 I was invited by House of Speakeasy to speak at the iconic NY venue Joe’s Pub in March. This week the date came around and by 8pm my performance was finally delivered and I could relax for the first time in six months 🫩😭😬 I immediately got a stress headache afterwards and momentarily had very blurry vision .. BUT it was an amazing experience! I’ve never spoke at length on stage without slides and videos to accompany me, I felt quite exposed. It was also the first time I’ve been invited to participate giving a talk as an author as opposed to a visual artist📚 ‘Seriously Entertaining shows bring together four incredible writers for a fast-paced, thought-provoking, and often surprising night of storytelling at Joe’s Pub. The theme for the evenings talks was “Pleasure for Pleasure” inviting a celebration (or interrogation) of joy, indulgence, and desire, featuring Jon Burgerman, Caroline Paul, Michael Riedel, and Michael M. 🤗🤗🤗 JON BURGERMAN Hold On, It Won’t Last Long is closing today. 515 WEST 19TH STREET NYC If you have not already come to see the show, you still have a chance to grab a balloon before 6pm today. It turns out I am electric powered by the creativity of Mr Burgerman. There are 46 balloons still holding on from the opening’s static total of 1700. Like me they don’t want this show to end. It’s been an honor and a privilege to work with Jon. I have gained a friend. I am grateful. Long may that continue and on to the next exhibition together. His works are held in institutional collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and the OÖ-Kultur museum in Linz, Austria. He has exhibited at Tate Modern (London), Ludwig Museum of Contemporary Art (Budapest), WOAW Gallery (Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore), Chengdu Times Art Museum (China), MISA Art Fair (Berlin, Cologne), Dopeness Art Lab (Taipei), Praise Shadows (Boston), Tatjana Pieters (Belgium), and Jane Lombard Gallery (New York).
