Everybody says Wednesday the 13th is bad luck. Ask anyone and they’ll tell you a guy in a hockey mask will chop you up if you go out on Wednesday the 13th. But here at Monster Island we DON’T CARE AND AREN’T AFRAID and are putting on a hot night of solo character comedy per usual!
This month featuring @ohchris , @ajahnischarley , @maria.pesto , @robertdefina , @calwynshurgold , @kikirazzle , @nicoleliliane , @just_a_turd , @jonblairbasically and Ghazal Ghiami!
We have also been in contact with THE BUCKET and it’s once again ready for a character open mic after the show, so bring your bits and put em up onstage!
Another Ted sighting on @ghostscbs last night!
This week I’m feeling very appreciative of the many welcoming, respectful and professional sets I’ve been lucky to work on and Ghosts is always a 10/10. This episode had a massive cast and there was so much to do but the vibes were immaculate as always. Any time they want this dead weirdo to shuffle into the room and say something weird I’ll be there with bells on!
What would a sketch show be without the KING OF SOLO SKETCH HIMSELF…JON BLAIR!!!!
🙌🙌🙌
Jon Blair is one of the most prolific and talented solo sketch performers that has ever walked the face of the Earth and we are pleased as absolute PUNCH that he’s gonna be on the show! Whether you’ve seen him on stage, on YouTube, on TV or through the lyrical scripting generated from a sweaty writers room, it’s easy to proclaim Jon as a definitive sketch genius. He combines absurdity with the mundane in a way that is both delightful and hilarious and always blows my freakin’ mind grapes.
Come see what nonsense he will deliver at this month’s SKETCH PARTY!!!! 🥳🥳🥳
All photos have been pilfered from his Instagram without permission or context. Will he be mad about it?!?!? Find out this weekend!

Hey! This May and June I’m teaching solo sketch at @cbproto ! I’ve been working and experimenting in solo sketch since way back when it was scarcely a thing, I’ve written and performed roughly 100 one-person sketches live or filmed, and you can too (I don’t strictly recommend you do that many but you can)! I love this weird little variant of the sketch form very much and I really love helping other people find their footing and do it for themselves. It’s a scene that’s really been coming into its own in the past few years and this is a great time to get into it, or to add some new ideas to your toolkit if you’re out there doing it already! Registration link is in my bio!

Our numerous haters said we would never do a bucket show after Monster Island this week. They said we had sold out and gone Hollywood and would never have a character open mic bucket show right after the main show and a brief intermission. They said you would not bring a character bit to do at the bucket show and even if you did we would refuse and say “we aren’t doing a bucket show tonight, Wednesday April 8th.” Well our numerous haters are WRONG AS USUAL because the bucket is back, following this week banger 10-comic lineup!
This morning @toribarban informed me that a production still of us from @ghostscbs was featured on the Tonight Show, where I was mentioned by name because a viewer thought I looked like Jimmy Fallon. Do I think I look like Jimmy Fallon? No. Did the audience think I looked like Jimmy Fallon? Overwhelmingly no. Will I be telling people I was on the Tonight Show for the rest of my life and accepting zero follow up questions? Yes
