See Tyra Banda in "Swipes Right: Hard Launch!" Tyra is a Queer Black artist based in Toronto, Ontario. Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, she got her first taste of Theatre when she pursued a BA in drama at the University of Alberta. She was part of Rapid Fire Theatre and multiple Edmonton Fringe Festival shows (Chuckle Ruckus, Big Stupid Improv Show, DieNasty). Tyra moved to Toronto in 2019 to pursue a diploma in Comedy Writing and Performance at Humber College. While in the city, she has been part of the Bad Dog Featured Players (Season 7) and teaches classes with the company. Tyra has gotten to do improv festivals all over the country (Vancouver International Improv Festival, Winnipeg Improv Festival, Ottawa Improv Festival, Improvaganza), and is 1/8 of Toronto’s most well behaved improv troupe, “Little Miss Normal”.
