Almost 5 years ago, I told myself I wanted to build my business acumen, in fact what I said was, I wanted to be a “Business Man” as I would often hear growing up on the Southside. Yesterday, was beyond emotional for me, because I looked up and realized I had achieved what I set out to accomplish, which was gaining the knowledge, tools, experience, and best practices necessary to not just “be” but to in fact “do.” I am excited as I start my tenure on the @chicagolandchamber of Commerce board, and as emerging leaders Co-Chair, but even more excited about inspiring the next generation of business leaders committed to changing the business landscape as we know it!
