Carl Gari has always operated at the intersection of guitar music and club-driven genres — where the physicality of a dancefloor and the intimacy of a song occupy the same space. So when Lynne Azzam played a set after a Carl Gari concert one Munich night, something clicked. Not just appreciation, but recognition. The kind of listening that signals a fellow obsessive. A session followed. Then another. This project brings together Lynne with Jonas Yamer and Till Funke — two members of Carl Gari, and the direction the band is moving toward. Lynne’s voice doesn’t settle. It drifts between confession and abstraction, Arabic melodic fragments surfacing through hazy indie textures. Her practice spans music, sound art, and research — a sustained curiosity for how voice, language, and vibration travel across cultures and disciplines.

We’re happy to announce: today, the first single “Pick’n’Peel” from our self-titled Carl Gari double vinyl album is out (on Bandcamp and all usual platforms). Recorded in the seclusion of a house in the Bavarian Forest, something unfolded that felt less like a conventional album production and more like an internal process of condensation. This house wasn’t a studio - it was a retreat. Its 1960s-inspired interiors, creaking wooden stairs, and crackling fireplace shaped the sound of Carl Gari as much as the instruments themselves. Though the house no longer exists, its atmosphere remains present in the recordings. The album has features from @_polygonia_ , Will Brooks of @daleknwk , @cobysey , @simon.popp and Sensational. The guest artists do not merely decorate the sound - they alter its very structure at critical points. The cover photographs, taken by @jonasyamer in the now demolished house reflect a key motif of the album: spaces exist only as overlays and echoes - not mystical ghosts, but traces of a place that has physically vanished. I'lI be presenting the film on the 21/03 at 18h, during the double-bill programme with "The Cow's Compaint" The second screening is 23/03, at the Arlequin. Today I’m releasing Universal Pain into the world via @molten_moods . A ten-minute, dubby, partially dramatic techno closing track built around a simple but profound truth: the capacity for pain is universal. It is perhaps the most fundamental experience we share as human beings and inseparable from it is the beauty of our ability to perceive it in one another and to answer it with empathy. Feral Mix 016 - Jonas Yamer The next installment in our @feral_feral_feral_feral_feral Mix Series is a sweetly crafted techno mix by Jonas Yamer. Jonas Yamer is a Berlin-based artist whose work spans music composition and production, DJing, and video art. At the heart of his practice is his role as a musician: as bassist and producer of the band Carl Gari, he has played a defining role in all releases by Carl Gari & Abdullah Miniawy. Their collaborations have received wide critical acclaim from Pitchfork, The Wire Magazine, Resident Advisor, TAZ, and NPR, and have led to performances at internationally renowned institutions such as ICA London, Rewire Festival, Haus der Kunst, Draaimolen and Berlin Atonal. In 2015, Yamer founded the label Molten Moods, recognized by Electronic Beats as “one of the brightest labels in Germany”. He holds a degree in Philosophy and later continued his studies in the class of Julian Rosefeldt at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, where he has been developing his visual language through video art. Most recently, he, alongside Rosa Anschütz and Till Funke, formed the band Spoil. As a DJ, Yamer is known for his high-energy and intoxicating sets that weave together driving techno and psychedelic textures. His selections expand into ambient, house, deconstructed club, and bass music, shaped by the context of each performance. He is a regular presence at Munich’s renowned Blitz Club and was previously a resident at the city’s legendary MMA Club. His sets are defined by their dramaturgy, depth, and a keen sense for narrative progression.
