Last night
@belmond and
@apartamentomagazine launched our latest cookbook collab, this time exploring the heady scents and explosive flavours of Penang.
As well as practical recipes from the likes of
@andrechiang_sg (culinary director of Belmond’s Malaysian sleeper train, the
@easternoriental ),
@malcolmleeee and
@abby_lee_chef , the book features the stunning photography of
@luoyangggg , whose lens is the perfect window into this island of endless contrasts and connections.
The evening itself felt like a physical plunge into the pages of Penang, achieved through the masterful tablescaping and menu of
@kirthanaa (who also contributed to the book, alongside esssys by acclaimed writers including
@tash.aw and
@annasulan ).
Friends and collaborators came together at the
@icalondon to raise a glass and enjoy a Malaysian snack, making for a vibrant celebration that we hope would do Penang proud. Thanks to Apartamento for being such great collaborators, to
@runamokrun for seamless local production and to our incredible Belmond team for pulling off such a special evening (as well as
@dhpr_london and
