It’s Jerome’s birthday today 🎉 so here’s your official permission to flood his DMs with gear recommendations he definitely doesn’t need but will 100% add to cart anyway. 🤣 Jerome isn’t just our Head of Production. He’s the guy who keeps every shoot from falling apart, the one making sure our lights, cameras, and cables actually do what they’re supposed to. He’s the first to say “we need better gear” and somehow also the first to say “we don’t really need it… but imagine if we had it.” What we love about him? He sees storytelling as both logic and emotion. He’ll tweak audio levels for hours, but he’ll also tell you that every good or bad moment is a learning experience. We pretend to roll our eyes, but he’s right. When he’s not running the set, you’ll catch him listening to podcasts, gaming, lifting at the gym, or daydreaming about his next car. Basically, Jerome does not do chill. Happy birthday, Jerome! Thanks for bringing your eye, your energy, and your very specific opinions about gear into AM Visuals. On Saturday, we did something extraordinary, something that had never been done before. We filmed a music video inside Cobham Justice Centre. But guess what? That’s not even the most extraordinary part of the story. We ran a content workshop where we gave three young people the chance to direct, shoot, and produce this video with our support. All they needed was the right guidance and a positive attitude. This workshop wasn’t just about doing something cool (as cool as it was). It gave these three young people the opportunity to have a voice and take real ownership of their roles on the day. A big thank you to the team at Cobham—especially Shannon and Gav, for supporting us and recognising the positive impact this workshop could have. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of what ZOKU can achieve across Australia, and maybe even one day around the world. To showcase the creative sector as a top-tier career path, especially for troubled youth. We also captured a behind-the-scenes video to highlight the day, which will be available to anyone interested in partnering with us to see what our workshops can deliver.

“Tripods are boring.” That’s literally how @jommayer kicked off Day 2 at @edenbraehomes … until we reminded him that at 70, handheld might hit different when his arms give out 😂 From there, it was all the classic shoot-day chaos: freezing mornings, monitor cables staging a protest, bricklayers and carpenters on site, and Jerome casually having lamb shank for breakfast. Sometimes the simpler shoots are the most satisfying. A Sunday morning shoot for Cancer Council that turned out to be pleasant surprise full of incredible stories of community. What a job.
