Interior spaces, built as an extension of the human nervous system, design for coherence & connection.
The design is based on the four layers of a forest; each nurture balance, renews the earth and provides sanctuary for life.
Pictured are our farm shop, communal kitchen, and restaurant located in the main house.
Which is your favourite?

DH INT_001 // Pre-Renovation
The interiors of Dunford House before renovation.
Built in the mid-18th century, the house still carries its original details. Tall ceilings, intricate coving, and fireplaces in nearly every room.
At the rear, a glasshouse designed by Joseph Paxton, the same visionary behind the Crystal Palace.
A rare blend of character and craft. Solid, spacious, and quietly timeless.
DH EXT_001 // Pre-renovation
Nestled in the quiet woods of West Sussex, Dunford House was reborn between 1848 and 1853 for Richard Cobden on the very land of his father’s farmstead, a home built as a deliberate gathering place for ideas, community and change.
Cobden’s relentless belief in free trade, peace, and human flourishing found expression in this house where visitors, letters and conversations flowed across garden paths and library shelves. At Long Lane we recognise in Dunford House the same commitment to raising consciousness, forging connection, and shaping places for collective wellbeing.
Here, then, is a story of architecture and ideas converging, much like our own vision of hospitality as a catalyst for awareness, connection and purpose.
