thank you, ESSENCE, for granting me the opportunity to do what i do best: take people’s words, add some of my own, and put it all together to remind people how and why we are MADE LIKE THIS.
we are olympic champions. we are change agents. we are bosses. we are authentic. we are creatives. we are timeless. we are history makers. we are we are multi-hyphenate. we are everything they said we couldn’t, shouldn’t and wouldn’t be.
grateful to be just a small part of 55 years of cultural impact. college me (slightly pictured) would be so proud.
cheers to #essencefest 2025. thank you @shelbylnstewart and @itsnandibby 🫶🏾

Last week, I attended my first Democratic National Convention. This was one of my best experiences of my life and a true highlight of my career 🇺🇸💙
The DNC was an incredible experience, filled with energy, inspiration and a vision for our future. I left feeling more motivated than ever — because as our next President says, “when we fight, we WIN.”
From making lifelong connections to standing alongside major change makers — Chicago, you showed out. While this was my first DNC, it most certainly is not my last. Already looking forward to DNC 2028! ✊🏾 #DNC2024
