ZULU BALL 2026 🎭 | CREATORS FOR CULTURE
Preservation through presence. Expression through style.
In New Orleans, what we wear is memory, authorship, and celebration all at once.
A prelude to what we captured.

White House, Black Hands — my new Slavery Trails augmented-reality exhibit — is now live.
📸 Photos by Jared Harris @_rocfresh Thank You cuz !
Fun fact: The equestrian statue of Andrew Jackson (top Left) visible in the background was made possible by Philip Reid, an enslaved African American artisan. Reid is widely credited with shaping the plaster model and solving the technical problem that allowed the statue to be cast.
When the sculpture was installed in 1853, it became the first equestrian statue cast in the United States, balancing entirely on the horse’s hind legs. Despite his essential role, Reid received no credit and was not paid—his enslaver was.
Histories like these surround the White House, hidden in plain sight.
