Throughout my Midwestern road trip 2 years ago, I came to the realization that the middle of America isn't just flyover country. Yes, I was being ignorant. Being from NYC you tend to think there's nothing to really experience between New York and California, and boy I was wrong. I discovered a passion for the mountains and wilderness that this diverse land we live on has to offer. When I soon embark on my journey to the Midwest for the next chapter of my life, I hope to bathe in all the glory that Mother Nature has to offer.

My fascination with bridges started in JHS when I was apart of the Bridge Building Club. The engineering and structural design was always something to marvel at. However, there was always a greater meaning behind my appreciation. Being able to connect civilizations throughout history has been key to share various cultures and understanding. We must continue to build bridges amongst ourselves to improve relationships and society as a whole. Please build bridges, not walls...
