As a photographer who primarily focuses on landscape and adventure photography, I often plan many of my travels around what photos I will be able to get. It can be a really big bummer when you show up to a place you’ve seen thousands of times online in perfect conditions and have it be, well, anything less than that. That has happened to me plenty, but it makes it that much better when you show up somewhere and are gifted with the absolute perfect conditions. That’s what happened here at Mount Hood. When I cleared the path and saw the opening with the view, I nearly lost my mind. This view is just simply stunning. And as the sun started to go down and the clouds rolled in, it made for an absolute perfect photo op. I say all this to reiterate that not everything is always going to work out, but if you never have any loses then there wouldn’t be any reason to celebrate the wins.
Some would say these views are righteous, righteous 🐢🏖️
All other beaches have a lot to prove because this one on the far northeast side of Oahu was such a 10/10 even on a gloomy day. It delivered not one, but two sea turtles nesting in the sand and a crazy good sunset to end the day with. Proving once again that a day spent at the beach is never a bad one.

There are few places I will return to multiple times, even though I’d love to go back to so many places, just because there’s so much to see out there. However, Hawaii always just has a special magic to it that no matter how many times you visit, you never get tired of it. I’ll certainly never go tired of photographing it.
