For months I planned to give birth privately with my husband. I wanted it to be a super intimate moment since it was my first time and I didn’t know what to expect. I told Mami leading up to my due date that it would just be me and AJ in the delivery room. Fast forward, I go into labor. My mom, naturally, is blowing up my phone every two seconds. Then all of the sudden she shows up, I’m in NYC, she’s in NJ, like did she fly? haha she showed up with her iPad, 3 bibles, and a notebook. 😂
She made a bed out of two chairs, asked the nurse for blankets, and stayed with me. Before she went to sleep she said,” I always planned on being here, I was never going to leave you”. 😭😭 She made me laugh the entire time — I had the easiest delivery! She tried to me teach how to take breaths (she is so unserious )🙃 it was hilarious.
This is just one of the countless moments I have with my amazing mama. I pray to have that same grace, dedication, and unconditional love towards my baby boy— I love you, Mami! 🤍
