Bit late with this but to mark the Grade II listing of the South Bank Centre (The Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room, Hayward Gallery and terraced walkways and stairs) here's the great Royal Festival Hall - built in 1951 as part of the Festival of Britain and granted Grade I listing in 1988.

We believe the crane behind the hall is the building of Hayward Gallery in 1967.
.
This brutalist masterpiece was voted as Britain's Ugliest Building by Daily Mail readers when it first opened. Its one of my favourite places in London.

Bathing Pool, Ramsgate by Elmar Ludwig

The council is considering selling the car park that used to be the Bathing Pool, in Ramsgate. There's a long way to go and I imagine the cost will be a huge problem (probably cost more than building a new one elsewhere!) but fingers crossed - it would be great to see this Lido up and running again.

Just heard the sad news that Martin Parr has died. He has left an extraordinary legacy. A huge figure who will be greatly missed. Love and condolences to his family.
