One last The Muppet Show post! Here I am with the gorgeous Whatnot I performed in The Muppet Show audience in the Muppet Theater. What a crazy sentence for me to get to say.
This Whatnot was put together by Alex “Jürgen” Ferguson, an all-star fabricator, wrangler, and puppeteer who put so much character into her. I think her whole face was made just using whatever scraps and materials Jürgen could find around our makeshift shop on the Fox lot.
I wanted to be a puppeteer my whole life. I knew who Jim Henson was before George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. To puppeteer with the Muppets was a dream come true, and for the project to be THE Muppet Show is something I couldn’t have even imagined.
It’s been really nice to see people enjoying the special and thanks for letting me indulge in patting myself on the back for my very tiny part in making it. There were hundreds of folks involved in making this, and basically all of them are more talented, experienced, and smarter than me. So please watch the special again on Disney+ and look at all the names in the credits and give everybody some love. Because they all put a lot of love in this show.
I made a new puppeteer demo reel! It had been 5 years since I last updated my performer reel, so this was long overdue. And what you see here is just the opening montage!

I was lucky enough to spend this week with an incredible team of puppeteers, actors, stage managers, artists, and creatives at @macys , where we debuted Benny and Milo to the world!
I loved working with @ericgelb , @jennverd , @trevor.aw , @bendurocher , @sebastianoricci , @thenoahmarcus , @pikachudrew and @thomasxburgess —who all contributed so much to bring these guys to life!
It was awesome to see how this bunny and gardener quickly made their way into the hearts of everyone around them. Hopefully they’ll come back again to make more friends!

SFA Notable Alumni: John Cody ’17 | From UConn’s Puppet Arts program to working with The Muppets, John Cody is bringing characters to life on some of the biggest stages in entertainment.
A puppeteer, writer, and fabricator, John has worked across film, television, and Broadway, with credits including Sesame Street, Saturday Night Live, and SpongeBob SquarePants. Since 2017, he’s been part of The Jim Henson Company.
Here's what John had to say about his time in SFA: “The creative freedom and countless resources of the Puppet Arts Program…was foundational in my career.”

What a great team of people we had! The perfect combination of fun to be around and incredibly talented and hard working. I sure do hope we’ll all get a chance to work together again sometime soon…!
