A year ago today I put on a white dress, and married the love of my life. It was a moment we kept so close to us this last year, that we can’t wait to finally share it with you all 🤍
Being a wedding photographer, I had so much pressure to meet these “standards” and live up to these “expectations” of what I thought my wedding should look like, and in the end, it’s exactly what we DIDNT do.
I called @johnchelini the weekend before while I was in Mexico shooting another wedding, and told him I was just ready to be his wife. Life was crazy, and planning something that I knew had a lot of eyes watching, ultimately in the end almost caused it not to even happen.
It was OUR marriage. Not me, John, and social media. But me, John, and God. It was the craziest week piecing together something like this so sporadically, but in the end was the most exciting week of our lives.
Our family who showed up for us, our friends who were given notice on Wednesday, and vendors who were hired Thursday, just two days before the wedding, were all we needed to stand at the altar with our priorities straight, and marry eachother. We were PRAYED over, the entire weekend. It never stopped. It will forever be the most incredible day of our life (so far) and I can’t wait to keep building our world together.

about a year ago we hopped on a plane to go and see @taymayesphoto and @momentswithmae to get our OWN engagements done. We didn’t have fancy outfits, I barely had my hair and makeup done, but that was just who we were. All we cared about was running around in the water with two of our closest friends, probably getting soaked at some point, and just being kids.
Wedding planning & the stress of a moment being “perfect” weighed so heavy on me as a WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER…. that I wanted everything we did to be so grounded on our marriage and the health of the season we were in.
SO WITH THAT… it’s finally time we share this special video @taymaesphoto made for us, that someday we will share with our babies. Something so close to us, it’s taken a year to share. We can’t wait to spend all week sharing our wedding with you… so to start it off….

A day we will never forget. Thrown together in 7 days, surrounded by our family, the most incredible vendors who got the call Tuesday and were with us Friday, a morning that started with snow and ended with a rainbow, and the presence of Jesus that was SO STRONG, we knew it was as perfect as we could have asked for.
