A year ago today I put on a white dress, and married the love of my life. It was a moment we kept so close to us this last year, that we can’t wait to finally share it with you all 🤍
Being a wedding photographer, I had so much pressure to meet these “standards” and live up to these “expectations” of what I thought my wedding should look like, and in the end, it’s exactly what we DIDNT do.
I called @johnchelini the weekend before while I was in Mexico shooting another wedding, and told him I was just ready to be his wife. Life was crazy, and planning something that I knew had a lot of eyes watching, ultimately in the end almost caused it not to even happen.
It was OUR marriage. Not me, John, and social media. But me, John, and God. It was the craziest week piecing together something like this so sporadically, but in the end was the most exciting week of our lives.
Our family who showed up for us, our friends who were given notice on Wednesday, and vendors who were hired Thursday, just two days before the wedding, were all we needed to stand at the altar with our priorities straight, and marry eachother. We were PRAYED over, the entire weekend. It never stopped. It will forever be the most incredible day of our life (so far) and I can’t wait to keep building our world together.

In 25, I met the love of my life, became a fiancé, became a WIFE, brought home our little 4 legged best friend, became a hot pilates instructor, left the country multiple times, bought our DREAM HOME we hope to fill with babies, became blessed with the most incredible groups of friends and memories, got diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis & had a lifesaving surgery leaving me better than I’ve ever felt in the last 13 years.
25 gave me HEALTH & set me up for the best 26 I could ever imagine 🤍

Last December John and I threw together a small ceremony within hours to celebrate with my grandma. She was the rock of our family, led with grace, forgiveness, and love.
She entered every decision with prayer, and knew God was in charge no matter what the situation was.
When I was met with hearing she didn’t know if she would make it to our wedding, there was no other choice than to throw something together to have her there. I never saw our day without having her pray over us as we entered our next season of life. Your wedding doesn’t have to fit the mold of “perfect.” It’s aesthetics don’t have to be what’s trending, at the end of the day it’s about the heart behind the day & I never saw ours without her 🤍
I hope this inspires you to embrace the season of life you are in, no matter the good or bad, take advantage of the time with your loved ones, and love BIG while you have them 🤍

I never saw my wedding day happening without her… so it didn’t ❤️
A year ago, I got the news my grandma wasn’t going to be able to make it to my wedding. She was someone who was so rooted in the Lord, the first person to know anything that was going on in my world, and the first person to pray.
Within hours my fiancé and I were running through Walmart grabbing as many lights as we could, grabbing our first little cake, finding my only white dress in my closet, and began transforming her living room. It wasn’t in the middle of the mountains, or at the beach, it was right there, under 5 strands of twinkle lights in her living room 🤍
All I wanted was a space to have her pray over us, and for us. To have our family just pray. It was the quickest thrown together day, but these photos are something I will cherish for a lifetime. While she went dancing with Jesus this year, I will forever be thankful we didn’t wait for that “perfect moment…” because it came to us 🤍

about a year ago we hopped on a plane to go and see @taymayesphoto and @momentswithmae to get our OWN engagements done. We didn’t have fancy outfits, I barely had my hair and makeup done, but that was just who we were. All we cared about was running around in the water with two of our closest friends, probably getting soaked at some point, and just being kids.
Wedding planning & the stress of a moment being “perfect” weighed so heavy on me as a WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER…. that I wanted everything we did to be so grounded on our marriage and the health of the season we were in.
SO WITH THAT… it’s finally time we share this special video @taymaesphoto made for us, that someday we will share with our babies. Something so close to us, it’s taken a year to share. We can’t wait to spend all week sharing our wedding with you… so to start it off….

Almost 4 years ago, you were given 6-12 months, and still to this day, you were our walking miracle. Instead of those few months, you had so much love to give that you fought hard to stay & God had more for you to teach before leaving. You knew God had you in the palm of His hand, and never doubted the plan He had for you.
I never knew how I was fully going to say goodbye to someone who was apart of every moment in my world. Who I was so excited to share every win & loss with. Someone who always met me where I was, and was unwavering. Someone who in the end I prayed, if God leaves part of you behind in me, I begged Him to give me your heart. You were known for having a servants heart, quick to listen, quick to forgive, slow to speak, to always put others first, to turn the other cheek, and to live every breaking moment as honoring to the Lord as you can. If there is anything I can hope for in life, it’s that my heart turns into the beautiful masterpiece that He built yours into.
You were my world. You taught me what to always keep at the center of mine. To pray in good & bad times, to give grace, and to know it’s ok to feel again. I still can’t fully grasp the fact that we won’t get to see eachother earthside again, but I can only imagine the sparkle in your eyes realizing you had finally graduated to Heaven 🤍 You left a legacy of love behind that will be passed on through all your children & our family, and I am blessed beyond measure to have had you in my life.
