Celebrating a special birthday today…I’ve been a parent to this wonderful child for 10 years. Although you see the milestone approaching, there’s something about your kid reaching double digits that is mind blowing. If you know Ollie, you know his passion for swimming, dinosaurs, and video games, his hilarious sense of humour, his big blond hair, and sweet heart. I am such a proud papa! ❤️🎉

Wormhole feat. Midas as the Goddess of Time @theemidas DJ John Caffery DJ Discoraphy @discoraphy Friday March 27 Doors 9PM $10 b4 10:30PM Black Eagle @eagletoronto 457 Church St Poster by Eric Kostiuk Williams @eric.k.w Wormhole is a nightlife experience that bends time on the dancefloor, pulling you through decades of sound one hour at a time. As the night unfolds, each hour opens a new portal—traveling from past to future—where iconic music from a different era is reimagined through the pulse of house. Familiar melodies resurface as driving basslines, hypnotic grooves, and modern club energy, creating the feeling of stepping into another timeline without ever leaving the room. This is not a retro party—it’s a time experiment. From disco roots to synth-soaked anthems, golden-era R’nB influences to millennial pop moments, Wormhole transforms musical history into a continuous, evolving journey. Every set is a remix of memory and momentum, blurring decades and keeping the dancefloor locked in the present. This week marked the 77th annual International Human Rights Day, and 77th anniversary of Nakba. To mark the occasion, the Community Worker program at George Brown College held a Human Rights Day Panel. Im grateful I have been given the role of lead organizer for a series of events to mark the 50th anniversary of the program and this was the launch. This was an opportunity to explore the promise and the problem with our Human Rights. I was thrilled listening to the courageous critiques, and the stories of solidarity were a tonic for the soul. Many of the ideas and statements shared were electrifying and felt like a serum of truth. I truly love the Community Worker program that I am alumni of, and faculty, and the event was a perfect embodiment of why. So many attended despite the snowy weather and the room was buzzing with people connecting. The panelists Desmond Cole, Diana Gallego, Diana Chan McNally, Samira Mohyeddin, Brianna Olson Pitawanakwat, and moderator Resh Budhu had a deeply profound conversation that felt nuanced, brave, caring, and necessary. I’ve been chewing on lots of ideas since that night and reflecting on how we can embrace a responsibility based friendship, a framework from the Anishinaabekwe people that puts the onus on us to look out for each other. Amidst ever-increasing individualism and greed, recognizing our responsibility to each other seems essential to our survival. #humanrights #communityworker

Today I turn 47 years old and I’m grateful for good health and cherished family and friends who fill my life with love and joy. I was severely bullied as a kid beginning at the age of 6, seemed everyone knew I was gay before I understood and accepted it. Perhaps it was that I was fantastic at double dutch and skipping, always hung out with girls, hated most sports, cared a lot about clothing and fashion, and regularly choreographed neighbourhood kids into performances of Dee-Lite, Whitney, and Madonna. 30 years ago I was in high school at St. Mary’s in Hamilton, Ontario. The bullying and social rejection was worst during Grade 9 and 10. In Grade 11, I had the opportunity to take a Media Studies course and decided with some other kids to create a fantasy/action series that would air with the morning announcements. The premise was about a loser kid who had discovered a grey leather jacket that was dropped from an alien ship that flew over the high school and was found by my “character” and transformed me into a super cool kid who battled high school bullies and space villains named Johnny Blaze. Inspired by Star Wars, Pulp Fiction, and Jim Carrey, the project actually did transform my teenage experience and suddenly many of the people who were mean to me took an interest, appreciated my sense of humour, and changed their behaviour. I learned the power of making art, how humour can be a coping skill and the healing power of laughter. For the first time since those high school days, I’m sharing a clip of the opening credits of Johnny Blaze.

To celebrate my man Mooky’s 50th birthday, we went on a trip to Iceland. It was an adventure to a stunningly beautiful place! There were a few things we couldn’t plan for, that I was wishing and hoping we’d get to experience…seeing Aurora Borealis, and whale sightings ....and I’m grateful we experienced both. It was mind blowing to see the night sky come alive with dancing streaks of green and red and being close to Humpback whales and Minke whales was exhilarating! Other highlights included an erupting geyser, the gorgeous Gullfoss Falls, the hilarious drag of @fayeknus and immersing in the warm relaxing waters of the Blue Lagoon. Mooky is not on social media (which has always been part of his appeal) but if you want to share some bday love, I’ll be sure to pass it on. #iceland #50

I love the nightlife! What an honour and source of joy to work on “Disappearing Acts” by Nina Jeffares-Levitt for @nuitblancheto . I’m passionate about Queer & Trans history and it is not lost on me the significance of having this work in the city centre at this moment in time when LGBTQ2S+ people are under attack in society. “Levitt’s video commemorates bygone bars and nightclubs that were once the heart and soul of Toronto’s gay and lesbian communities during decades of essential nightlife. Some were short-lived, others decades strong—all were safe havens where we met lovers, where friendships were forged, and where LGBTQ2+ spirits soared. From the longstanding St. Charles Tavern, Boots, Chez Moi and The Rose to lesser-known haunts, these establishments helped to shape queer identity and health. Factors like the AIDS crisis, urban gentrification, Covid-19, and social media have all contributed to their disappearance. Memories of these spaces are fading, especially as generations age and landmarks are lost to redevelopment” I worked at many of the places that were featured either as a bartender, a go go dancer, or a DJ, or I partied there, made out, laughed, and danced the night away. ❤️🌕#nbto25 #nuitblanche #toronto #dj #nightlife #queer #lgbtq
