very excited to share that i’ve got a new book on the way! 💥 2AM Eternal collects one hundred nightlife posters from the past decade, with several comics scattered throughout (some new ones, some old and long out of print ones). many of the posters are also accompanied by write-ups from me, and over thirty guest writers — drag performers, djs, friends, promoters, and co-conspirators from over the years. it comes out next spring through Secret Acres, a publisher i’ve admired for years and am thrilled to be working with. a lotta love has gone into this, and i hope you’ll enjoy. 💌
a couple months ago, i received a lovely email from a louisiana-based painter named Vincent, who asked if i’d be cool with him including a depiction of my Moonlight billboard in his series of deep south landscape paintings. i said yes — duh!! — and we went on to have a really nice correspondence. he generously mailed me a reproduction of the painting, which arrived today, and got a spot on my living room wall within 5 minutes of opening the package. i’m so very chuffed n moved by this! making art and maintaining a career in this garbage world can be exasperating, and it makes these sweet interactions all the more meaningful. thank you Vincent!
