Join us on Saturday, May 9th from 3-7PM for the launch of John Roemer’s (@john_roemer ) new, self-published photobook View from a train bound to Fujiyoshida and view from a train bound to Tokyo.
The pages of the book alternate between views from a train bound to Fujiyoshida from Tokyo and images from the return trip. The camera, set in a window to make photographs at timed intervals, would capture a cityscape, a flash of foliage, or someone going about their day. These are the vignettes that fly by, sometimes in sync with fleeting thoughts or a conversation with another passenger, when one stares out the window of a moving train.

Before I knew Allie as my wife's best friend, I saw her work at DEEPER @friendofafrienddenver . It really resonated with me and I think about that show often.
