Many moons ago, as
@lisa__fusco walked the girls home from Mount Pleasant Elementary, Adelaide started choking on a strawberry. Frantic, Lisa screamed and a man pulled over, gave the Heimlich, and pulled away before she had a chance to thank him.
She posted on North Wilmington Moms about the incident and
@thatpiegirl (Amy) responded (who we didn't know yet) that it was her friend
@djjazzychef (Robert Lhulier). And we sent a message of gratitude.
Years later, when
@wilmingtonbrewworks opened, that same Amy baked us a pie to welcome us to the neighborhood and then
@ciderryan made a cider in honor of Amy's apple pie
A few years after that, Lisa and I met Chef Robert at a dinner at our friend Karen's house in person and ate one of the most memorable and enjoyable meals. Then
@craigwensell and I tapped Chef for a beer dinner at WBW that was to be held March 17, 2020... And we know what happened there.
As the pandemic progressed, we learned that Chef Robert was opening
@snuffmillde Restaurant, Butchery & Wine Bar which now carries a special label beer from WBW. It's definitely among the best restaurants that Delaware has to offer.
Today, Adelaide met Chef Robert for the second time. ♥️
I guess what I'm saying, is that the world can be pretty great. I love that here in Delaware, acquaintances become friends, and when someone sees a young mother frantic on the side of the road, they stop and help.
