Unreasonably happy and proud that Othilia tonight was named Best New Bar Sweden at the Bartenders’ Choice Awards, held this evening at Grand Hôtel, celebrating the very best bars and bartenders across the Nordics. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible team and to every guest who has been part of the journey so far. This one is for all of you. ❤️

“There is something beautiful and bittersweet about finishing the last page in your favourite book, retiring at your peak, or doing something new and maybe slightly scary. As someone who loves moving forward and facing new challenges so I am able to develop myself, I have reached a conclusion to the chapter we call A Bar Called Gemma. A Christmas Greeting from Our Table - to Yours! With only a few days remaining until Christmas Eve and the seasonal closing of Operakällaren, our Executive Chef, Emanuel Tärnqvist, would like to share a few words. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all our guests for a truly unforgettable year. The encouragement, curiosity, and generosity we have felt from you, as well as the recognition from Falstaff and the Michelin Guide, have meant the world to me and to the entire team. I am equally grateful for the many conversations shared in the dining room. To step out, meet you at your tables, and exchange a few words is one of the greatest joys of my work. As we step into our final year before the house closes for renovation, our excitement only grows. We look forward to welcoming you for this last chapter and to turning the year ahead into a long, joyful celebration of what Operakällaren is at its core. A place where gastronomy is inclusive, generous, and shared. After Christmas Eve, Operakällaren will close briefly and reopen with Le Grand Menu on January 15. Othilia opens the following day, and our à la carte menu returns on January 20. Reservations are now open through March 31. STERLING at A Bar Called Gemma A couple of weeks ago, myself and Erin had the opportunity to travel to Stockholm, representing STERLING. A Bar Called Gemma, truly is a special place. As a guest (generally speaking), you can always feel the warmth soon as you walk into any bar, and this bar was no different. Erin and I could feel the warmth from the moment we first walked in for prep in the morning. During the event, it was truly fascinating to see how the industry in Stockholm supports each other, which I strongly believe this is what bars should be about. The more we grow in hospitality, we realise that hospitality is much, much more than making drinks. It becomes more about bringing the best out of those we work with in the search of the eternal goal of enhancing our guest’s experience. I am extremely proud of Erin, representing STERLING at such high standards for her first global event, her performance, and also of her development with us so far. Well done again Cheffers! Thank you to Bacardi for making this happen, @drinks.with.j , we cannot thank you enough for your support and also for bringing both bars together! November 21 is the last chance this season to experience Othilia up here, by the bar, with a view of the castle. A few days later, the house transforms for winter, and Othilia moves downstairs to Nobiskällaren for a month-long Christmas chapter. A smaller, more intimate version, with a touch of holiday warmth. We’ll share more soon, but until then - join us at the bar!

A few months back I had the opportunity to work alongside @peremagloire_calvados together with @davidkringlund / @kimsjoberg . And also having him coming over to Sweden and sharing a lot of wonderful knowledge, experiences and culture about his career and country.
