Joffrey Ballet School’s NYC Jazz & Contemporary Summer Intensive: SPECTRUM is where versatility, innovation, and industry-driven training converge in the heart of New York City. As our flagship Jazz & Contemporary intensive, this immersive program invites dancers to fully invest in their artistry within a dynamic, professional studio environment that bridges concert and commercial dance.
Led by Artistic Director Angelica Stiskin @angelicastiskin , SPECTRUM offers a rigorous and expansive approach to training. Dancers work with a diverse roster of teaching artists, directors, and choreographers whose careers span every facet of the industry. Daily classes, creative process, and repertory challenge technique, expand range, and encourage individuality, adaptability, and artistic confidence.
Open to dancers ages 8–25, the program offers performance opportunities that culminate in a fully produced theater presentation at a New York City theater. Through an intensive rehearsal process, dancers are guided from studio exploration to stage performance, gaining essential experience in collaboration, artistry, and professional preparation.

Day three of our SPECTRUM Winter Workshop pushed dancers further into the work. As combinations grew more layered and physical demands increased, dancers met each challenge with presence, adaptability, and confidence. The day also included an audition for our Summer Intensives led by Artistic Director Angelica Stiskin, giving dancers the opportunity to bring their training into a focused, professional setting.
