a bus full of people from around the world, a studio full of people with a why and a purpose, a table full of people making an effort to learn new names and new words in new languages. So much effort for the sake of learning about ourselves; what do we care about and why? How can dance be a metaphor, a goal, a release, and a friend I am so proud of this experience and forever and ever grateful to @orsolina28 and @kikisimy for the continued opportunity to highlight class, and to deepen the student-teacher relationship Keep your schedule free next Sept 27-Oct 2!!!

In faculty member Nicholas Palmquist’s @napalmsquist contemporary class, our Year 4 Ballet Trainees are encouraged to recognize just how far they have come. His approach is both motivating and reflective, creating space for dancers to acknowledge their growth while continuing to push forward. It is clear how proud he is of the work they have put in and the artists they are becoming. The movement centers around the nuances of life, exploring the power of subtlety and dynamics within each phrase. Dancers are guided to shift energy with intention, allowing small details to carry weight and meaning. It becomes a space where reflection and progress meet, supporting these dancers as they step into the next phase of their training with confidence and clarity. We are so grateful to Nicholas and to all of our faculty for the care, guidance, and dedication they bring into the studio every day. 📸 @laylamshoo #joffreyballetschool #ballettraining #contemporarydance #dancecommunity #newyorkcity

He combines soulful rhythms from his tap background with a smooth sensuality discovered in his commercial endeavors to explore as many ways of moving and expressing human emotion through dance as possible. Nicholas likes to challenge his dancers to explore the scope of their expression.

the composition and emotional resonance and sincerity captured by @carlosquezadaofficial during my time with the dancers of the @biennale_tanzausbildung makes me very proud of myself and everyone involved with this very unique experience. these pictures matter very much to me to meet and learn something within three hours and be willing to share that process so quickly with an audience and a camera takes years of preceding discipline and heart. It was an honor to be included and to share at @humboldtforum thank you again to @stateballetschool_berlin for bringing me to Berlin
