Thatâs a wrap on the @sheffdocfest Filmmaker Challenge! My documentary Love Notes to Nature screened yesterday to a sold out cinema. Feeling very grateful đŠľ
The biggest thank you goes to @dalkular who trusted me with this project. Filming with you was the most beautiful experience. Thank you for your openness.
But let me tell you, making a film in 3 days is a WHIRLWIND and this one wouldnât have been possible without the legends I got to work with:
@waadalkateab the most amazing Mentor
Joseph Haskey, Editor
@_official.cutjproductions who coordinated the whole thing
@acaciaredding love co-shooting with you
@sarahmplayford who composed the music without seeing the finished film!
@anamoisefilm Sound Recordist
@will_d_healy our Runner
@darthgrader_colour gorgeous grade
@doug_nrth sound mix
Thank you! đż

Never before seen (due to my poor posting habits) behind-the-scenes photos from our documentary shoot last summer đ Here to say:
Love Notes to Nature will screen TOMORROW (Thursday 26th February) at the Cardigan Arms in Leeds, as part of @milk_teeth_productions North by Northeast short film night đż
And then on Saturday 21st March at @sheffieldadventure Film Festival, as part of the Made in Sheffield 2 programme, starting 5:45pm at @showroom_cinema screen 2! Literally where it all began.
Massively grateful for both selections 𩵠Iâm so happy our film continues to meet new audiences, especially in its native Yorkshire.
Featuring the one and only @dalkular đ

First hike of 2026 - I got home very happy and with very muddy shoes as is customary for a winter walk!

Bye, 2025! Iâm a sentimental ass as is, and this time of the year makes it extra tempting to reflect.
In 2025, I:
ă°ď¸ Rediscovered the joy of being creative for the sake of it and took my camera on a couple of adventures
ă°ď¸ Hiked, danced, frolicked in nature (evidence captured), swam in the sea, watched full moons rise and stars fall, and worked on actually being present
ă°ď¸ Turned 30! And paradoxically never felt younger. Celebrating with sooo many people I love in the same room was easily one of the best days of the year (which I still wonât shut up about, because have you met a Leo)
ă°ď¸ Directed a film Iâm proud of that meant something to people, and grew in confidence with my craft
ă°ď¸ Finally went to Canada after years of dreaming about it (if I run into you at a pub, ask me how I let work know)
ă°ď¸ Trusted my gut more than ever. She pushed me out of my comfort zone, but she was always right
But I also:
ă°ď¸ Went through an illness in my family, a slap-in-the-face reminder about what actually matters
ă°ď¸ Barely took time off and burned out towards the end of the year
ă°ď¸ Didnât accomplish lots of things I wanted to accomplish
So, hereâs to doing it all over again in 2026.
You know you had a great time when youâve barely taken any pictures! I had the best weekend at @kendalmountainfestival , possibly the most wholesome festival out there, where even queuing is fun cause you will inevitably end up talking to the person behind you.
What made it even more special was catching up with the wonderful woman that is @dalkular . So glad you were there, Dal. And we won Best Film at BMCâs Women in Adventure film competition for our little doc, Love Notes to Nature! đŠľđż A real surprise, and a real honour.
Dalâs words inspired the film and I loved sharing it with the audience together, twice. (We crushed it at those Q&As, right? đł) Thank you to @teambmc âs Emma for the photo and for having us.

Canât wait to be back!
Very excited to be at Kendal Mountain Festival this weekend where Love Notes to Nature will screen twice!
In the film, @dalkular explores how reconnecting with nature can be a powerful act of healing and resistance đż
Love Notes to Nature has been shortlisted in the BMC Women in Adventure Film Competition â THANK YOU! â and will be shown tomorrow, Friday 21st Nov, at 9:45 am at The Brewery Arts Centre as part of the screening and awards session. @teambmc
It will also screen on Saturday 22nd Nov as part of the People & Place film collection, starting 11:45 am at Brewery Arts â Studio.
What a weekend for our little doc. Deeply grateful for everyone involved đŠľ

The most spontaneous thing Iâve done in 2025 (so far!) and some of the reasons it was worth it:
1 - This sunset
2 - This house
3 - âReplace capitalism with a good napâ? Pretty sound advice
4 - Yes
5 - Above all, this friendship of 11 years and counting @malingnie
