Sjálfsmynd (2025)
Over the past few years, I have been drawing self-portraits, and I finally painted one. One evening, after drinking with some friends, I came home and blacked out.
When I woke up, the painting was there — in my studio, above my bed. A flower. I had painted over the portrait, covering it with layers of paper and paint. I had covered myself.
Behind the canvas were two su*cide notes: one written before midnight, the other after. They read:
“I feel this flower is stubborn, like me. It’s not growing in this old soil. This is not a place to be. Hopefully this will be found and I can rest. See you later.”
When I look at it now, I think my unconscious saw me like that — something still trying to grow, even when the soil had nothing left to give.
a flower.
ARCHIVUM, CRONAURA, CACHÉAMOR
thank you all for coming to my show.
guests receive a letter, inviting them into the archivium room of stored paintings that had been forgotten, chraunaura, feeling the time that passed but lingers still in the air and noticing that nothing was there, only chacheamor, stored feeling, slowly with time thinking it was just a dream.

this was the third and final chapter of a trilogy
several years in the making
in this exhibition, ive collected and combined previously exhibited works,
reiterated as an archive through the act of wrapping & binding.
redefining the canvas as an object of memory.
in so doing, the curatorial act takes on its root origin as a proper act of care.
thank you mom and dad
thank you kari and ivar @kari_orrason@ivarolmu
thank you aske @sk_andersen for the song
thank you @a_milli_space

ég geymdi málverkin og nokkra hluti síðan seinast sem þú skyldir eftir,
það er í geymslunni.
mig dreymdi að þú varst þar og við tókumst í hendur, ég man núna hvernig þau voru.
sjáumst síðar

Pebbles, stones & rocks, 2023-2024
thank you all for coming last week to my show/perfume-release/book-launch. thank you everyone at @fischersund for the collaboration.
The showcase features a replica of my work table from my time in Paris, along with a live performance demonstrating the manual assembly of the book and the creation of its cover.
the book contains photos from old books and hand written notes that remind me of home, an old lover & moments that came and went. collected like stones that keep me stuck with feelings of nostalgia. your old perfume and the smell of old books as i remembered how it was, like pebbles in my pocket.
thank you @liljabirgisdottir@sparklejensen for the trust
