Revisiting the theme of harlequin boxsets artist @jo.okell chose a set of postcards made by the staff, students and visitors of the Royal College of Art, 1981.
In a game of ‘what are they making now’ this post has recent works by three of the young printmakers originally participating; Mandy Bonnell (detail: Lace Edge 1) Stephen Mumberson (House, 2025) and Stephen Hoskins (Left and Right Wing).
@annnorfield chose the Otto Dix drypoint, Lion Tamer, 1922 which arrived buried on a box of treasures which also contained three Patrick Caulfield prints and two colour lithographs by Anton Clave Harlequin,1951and La Corrida,1949 and an Alan Davie monotype, Mechanism for Delicate Emotions,1950. @mandy.bonnell@stevem654123@professor.stephen.hoskins@vamuseum #drypoint #lithography #monotype
Welcoming @jo.okell to LOOP25!
Jo describes her prints as single monotypes, created in a series of around ten works linked by a common theme. While the themes vary, the resulting prints are abstract. She is drawn to emptiness but seems to need something defined and enclosed.
Jo was awarded the @printmakingtoday prize at the RE Original Prints for her finding red 03.
