Feeling like a shadow of my former self
Being forced to sit still in this season of isolation & just observe my surroundings.
In this resounding silence gratitude is what’s kept me grounded.
Little things: Breath, Someone checking in, a hug.
Small trivial gestures that often are overlooked are magnified when everything you are familiar with seems out of touch.
Even in the darkest of days eventually the clouds start to break and the sun starts to shine through. But til then keep your head up

この隔離の時期に、じっと座り続け、ただ周囲を眺めるしかできない。
この響き渡る静寂の中で、感謝の気持ちが私を地に足をつけさせてくれている。
些細なこと――呼吸、気にかけてくれる誰かの声、抱擁。
普段なら見過ごされがちな、些細な気遣いが、慣れ親しんだすべてが遠のいてしまった今、より一層大きく感じられる。
どんなに暗い日々であっても、やがて雲は切れ始め、太陽の光が差し込んでくる。

I’m about to hit 1400 Days on Duolingo, but rn it feels like a daily chore more than immersive learning for me.

This month I got the chance to show some of the Homies why Japan is my favorite place on earth. Getting to watch them experience this journey for first time, really made this trip all the more memorable.
Having others along with me as I maneuver & photograph strangers was a whole new experience for me. People rarely get to see me in my element like that .
I’ve been able to visit a handful of times this year & it’s feeling more and more like family reunion with every visit and connection I’ve made.
Right now studying Japanese & experiencing the culture is the only thing really keeping my sanity intact especially with the current state of affairs in my country/ city.
I know it’s a privilege many aren’t afforded so I try to honor that best I can.
Here are a few of my favorite moments from our Jammed packed week traversing through Japan.✌🏾✨

For everyone asking me to collab or help with photoshoots.
I’ve been pretty detached from my creative process for the past year and a half for the first time in my life.
I waited to say something in hopes that there would be an attempt to make amends but that’s wishful thinking at this point.
Imagine giving your all to help build something you believed in and not being appreciated for “ not brining enough value” to the table
Releasing this bodies of work symbolizes
me reclaiming that power and energy I’ve poured into so many others who didn’t honestly deserve it. I definitely have my shortcomings when it comes to this creative entrepreneur thing.
Art is literally how I process the world and how I communicate when I can’t find the words to express myself. Packaging and selling my therapy was never my end goal but I’ve been blessed enough to create on my own terms for over a decade and that’s something many people won’t get to experience.
So from here on out I won’t take this privilege for granted. I’m thankful for all of my friends and family who made this era special. @jatticshock@boofskater@fart.pdf@miaxivio@bays_anatomy_@stackobills@shmoovxy I appreciate all you do.
