Life and death is something we can all relate to. How we celebrate or honor our passed loved ones is special to us. Here in Mexico there is Día de los Muertos “The Day of the Dead.” A holiday rooted in honoring, remembering and celebrating those who have crossed over but return during this time to be with us. I traveled to CDMX to document and learn the history and meaning behind this holiday. We are more alike than we are different with culture and language being the biggest barriers between us. This barrier creates misinformation, it can and has created hate and prejudice. When we bridge the gap, learning others culture, their language, you can then find connection through common understanding like life and death. In my culture I grew up with an alter in my house where my family told me “these are your ancestors, your relatives.” How interesting is it that in my Black culture I can sit down and relate to someone who is Mexican simply because of this shared dynamic. Here are some of the history and stories behind this day from people from Mexico and those who now live there. This has been a soul enriching journey that I give unlimited thanks for. I could not have done it by myself. Thank you to @samulivauramo for introducing me to @maxinegoynes who then connected me with @goaskjules who without knowing me resonated with this project which led to me meeting and interviewing @jacqueline.rose_ @nelipotproject.mama @joyceadamz @davidprz.fotografia . And I can’t forget my friend @chicomono who I met while grabbing a coffee who offered to sit down with me to share his culture and story. @mexisoultours who was taking great care of us @santohabanero who gave us even more history and understanding of this special holiday. Also, thank you to the businesses that allowed me to set up my camera and gear @wandrd to film and for the tasty pan de muerto y café @deseocafemx @aromano.mx @santohabanero I hope you all enjoy these stories and rich history. Al pueblo de México, les agradezco por recibirme y por compartir su historia y cultura conmigo. Muchísimas gracias. #diademuertos #cdmx #diadelosmuertos #dayofthedead #culturalstories

The first page of Chapter 37 begins!! 📖 I give sustained gratitude for this life and the loved ones who make living a joyous experience. During these times we need each other more than ever. We need truth over opinion. We need books and research over Ai There’s power in the people, not as a scattered consciousness but as collective humanity Love will continue to be what I choose to fight with even in the face of a darkness we have seen change its face over and over in hopes to manipulate and hide. We know these tactics to divide and we know how to conquer them. Don’t be fooled, community reigns supreme, it always will. Spread the light! Happy International Women’s Day! ✨ Much love to yall! Pisces season!! ♓️✨ Shot/Edited by: Me Creative direction: Yours truly #piscesseason #internationalwomensday #dance #bustarhymes

Most actors chase the moment. Austin Nichols learned how to live inside it. Years of repetition—from One Tree Hill to I Know What You Did Last Summer—didn’t just build a career. They built a system. “The more I use my brain and analyze things, the more I lose the magic… it’s better to feel my way in.” That shift—from control to instinct—is where the work changes. Not performed. Not over-explained. Felt. This is what happens when an actor stops chasing the scene— and starts recognizing it.
