It's more than video. More than storytelling. Its partnership. The magic happens when both parties are working together to make something great. For years, we've put a huge emphasis on building strong relationships. It's always had the biggest payoff from our experience. Its really the art of partnership.

Hey, it’s me, Josh, your friendly video dude guy friend. I love making stuff with people. It’s a ton of fun. More than making sick vidz, I love making memories. This year has been tough, but I’ve learned a lot about myself. I’ve simplified, looked inward, and doing a lot of work behind the scenes (more on that in December). Additionally, I’ve been doing some of my best work lately. I think a big part of that is my head and my heart. I took time to listen to friends, family, and mentors. It has helped me make sense of things, gain needed clarity and just feels good to be cared for. I can’t thank you all enough for the wise words and encouragement. Anyway, @rosstheisen gave me some new headshots after a solid lunch and convo last night. Love how these turned out ❤️ Happy Friday. Have a great weekend 👌

This next era of JECP: Crafted with Purpose and built by Partnership. This is what were fighting for. Our craft, our calling, our purpose. Deep inside me, these past few months taught me I have to create. I have to feed my inner artist. That can only happen with clarity. Practically speaking, this reel needed to be more than pretty images. I wanted to showcase who we are and what we are capable of. This feels like it. Veritas, Truth in Motion. We’re more than video. Not even storytellers. We're partners. This highlights our music video work, brand storytelling, documentary, and narrative capabilities. Our emphasis isn't on film types but on story types, teamwork, and impact. 2025 is feeling exciting.

Hey there, I'm Josh 🤘 It's been a minute since I've done an intro. So here I go. I'm a husband to my high school sweetheart. She's my best friend and a huge reason why I do what I do. We have two rad little boys. Being a father is a joy. It's also really hard and sometimes frustrating. I'm a lover of learning. Big fan of podcasts and self-help books. I've been a filmmaker for a while now. 10+ professionally. Got started with skateboarding. I love telling stories. The last few years have been tough for me. More growth than I'm comfortable with if I'm being honest, but I'm still kicking, and that's worth something. I've done a bunch of music videos. I've helped a bunch of brands tell their story better. I'm not one for being too pressed on having an industry niche or owning a position on set. What I do care about is telling stories that feel important, with clients who trust me. Also, sometimes I couldn't care less about having clients. At my core, I'm an artist more than a business owner. I shoot a ton of passion projects. I love being able to make my own things happen, even though it's super hard too. Suppose I had to share one thing about business. I really feel like my purpose is putting teams together. I get so much joy building a great team, making everyone excited, and while I know I'm pretty creative, nothing feels more creative than creating jobs for my friends. While the industry is burning down, I'm still pretty driven to help others, keep pushing forward, and have a bunch of fun making films with other humans. Photo by my best bud @rosstheisen

Uncovered some old stories from the unreleased vault with @jmemerick lately and it’s been so cool! A few years back we hit a stride where we wanted to tell a bunch of stories and create a few mini-docs. We started filming for them, but never finished any of it. So after collecting digital dust on hard drives for a while, it took Josh beginning a new passion project doc to make me be like “do you think those old interviews we shot still hold up in any way?” We dug into them, and sure enough, we knew what were doing as storytellers back then. The interviews still hold up! Both visually and what’s being said. So, we figured, let’s make a fun challenge and see if we can get these old stories across the finish line with new perspective. Some about the journey of an artist, some about the power of music, some that will now kinda take a new shape of loss and friendship. Can’t wait to see how these gradually come together and to get them out into the world. Here’s some stills talking with some old friends.

A Big Heavy Story with @nathanwinkelmes Been building to this for a while for @fears.fm and telling the story of this album. Earlier this week we sat down for a few hours and took our time sharing the parts of this album that make it what it is. It was personal, emotional and very meaningful. As director I felt I grew. A big part of me was nervous walking Nate through this story because in fact it’s heavy subject matter, but I’m proud of myself and so grateful to Nate for sharing this all. Stories like this change lives. It’s riddle full of self realization and growth, which is beyond beautiful to me. Additional thanks to @drewhiles for joining me and helping style and program the lighting, monitor two cameras and shoot some bts. We wrapped our shoot with some Dave’s BBQ and hangs 👌 I’ve started sorting and shaping the interview. Beyond excited.

Feels nice to have this done. One part of it is the practical side. Having these films for the doc helps tell the story over time and shows progress and supports story beats. The other part is just having easier access to these for nostalgic reasons. Seeing what I've made of the years is both embarrassing and inspiring. That's growth. I'm sore there's better ways to do it, but getting a good frame with the Blackmagic, jamming the audio in via the Rode Lav mic feels good enough for my needs. #progressisprogress #archives #documentaryfilmmaking
