I’ve been pray to God every day to reveal how He wants to use me. How should I be serving? This mens workout group is what I heard. Men need good men. They need to be physically strong. And they need a tight relationship with God to fulfill their natural leadership roles in the family.
“Muscle on Mission” men’s workout group meets at 6:30 on Saturday mornings at Indian Rocks Beach. The workout are free. All ages, any ability level. Come throw around some kettlebells, sandbags, and dumbbells. Bring friends that need to get moving. Bring men that need to be spiritually strengthened.

Light metabolic stress work to finish off a hard and heavy leg day🔥Ending your workout with “pump work” can amplify the effect of heavy loading. This has two main benefits…
1. Pushing blood into the effected area to promote healing as you leave the session.
2. Creating acute hypoxia in the muscle to stimulate enzymatic protein responses that have an anabolic muscle growing effect.
Alone, light pump work is not as effective at building muscle. However, when you pair it after heavy loading, the anabolic response is amplified. Create the damage, then create the right chemistry localized in the muscle to grow.

Understand a “working set”🔥💪🏼. This is one of the biggest disconnects for athletes and one of the most telling signs of an effective coach. A working set needs to be pushing the limits of an athletes capacity in a safe, supported, and brutal way. A lot of this requires what I call “listening with your eyes“ as a coach, trying to observe the athlete and understand where their breaking point is and then forcing them to hover there to create an effective training stimulus. This doesn’t mean that the movement gets ugly. It means that you’re forcing athletes to do things that they do not want to do, that their body is unaccustomed to. As an athlete, this requires that you also have a good spotter and good communication. Not every set needs to be as hard as possible, but you do need to pay the toll. Do not feel bound to the weight or the number of repetitions. Chase, the intensity, train with some level of intuition, and know that the discomfort is only a sign that you were getting closer to your target. Don’t run away from it, lean into it. That’s where the gains are.

We only did 3 movements…and still left walking like Bambi
What your leg day is lacking is focus.
You don’t need more volume.
You need intention.
You cannot coast through your training.
Every set matters.
So make every rep count by keeping the last 2-3 reps of every set very challenging.
What’s next?
Slow down your tempo and feel your muscles working. Faster isn’t better. Better is better.
And finally…finish your workout with more reps at lighter weights. Come the end of your workout you should be feeling it. So pull back on the weight and pump out some reps to start the healing process.
