These students and their teachers, Hailey and Paul, have moved me immensely in the 6 days we had together (in which we created a beautiful 10 minute long dance work woahhh) Having this platform to set a work on such brilliant + bubbly young artists is something I will keep with me forever :,,) Come see them shine (April 21st and 22nd) and think about time, for it is a gift
Haven’t been great at updating on here but I have been great at showing up in creation even when the artist is blocked. I feel extremely blessed at the platforms I’ve had to make dance works recently. And in this I’m finding that the more honest I am within these processes the simpler they become.
a section of my undergrad bfa capstone “this here must be now”, I recently saw a post that said David Byrne wrote this as an attempt at a love song without cliches and it felt like the perfect articulation of this dance in all its naivety, I have a special space in my heart for this time 🧡⭐️💟 the original video had lost its sound so here she is in all her glory once again hehe
