I went to Hyde Park Book Club to watch the support Rowan and Friends tonight, but came away a big fan of Seamus Fogarty’s music too.
Great to hear Rowan and Cordi perform new songs off their latest album which is out in the next few weeks. Loving David Berman's Apartment.
I’m new to Seamus’s music and have only been listening to it since the weekend, but I have to say that the song Ships is my favourite track of 2026 so far. Love his painting gracing the cover of the new LP too!
Good to see Mick from Shed Load of Vinyl and Matthew from The Silver Reserve in the audience.

‘Taking Stock’
26th March – 9th May
Tinker Gallery, Ilkley
I popped into the Tinker Gallery this morning to see Jo Tinker’s solo show which opened today.
Jo is one of the most inspirational, encouraging and talented artists I’ve ever met.
I was blown away with the variety of artworks on display, recycling everyday materials into beautiful works of art.
I was pleased to see the grid of A3 framed prints taking up a full wall of the gallery which I played a hand in producing for her, last Autumn.
Looking forward to the buzz of the private view tomorrow evening!

It was a lovely feeling watching complete strangers interact with my #painting at the opening last night of the New Light Art Prize.
I don’t paint much these days, but when I do it makes the solitary toil, in a dank cellar, seem all the more worthwhile.
Great to see other artist's work I admire on social media in the flesh, as well as a couple that I personally know.
Very happy for ‘Thief’ to fly around the country for the next 15 months, culminating in December next year, at The Mercer Art Gallery in Harrogate.
So guard your chips!

There was a fight outside our house last night and this young starling flew into our lounge window.
This morning the feud between the crows and starlings has continued around the back of our house.
Not sure who is at fault, but crows hold grudges for 17 years and starlings live for about five.
Not this poor one though… I’ll bury her later.
I’m not really one for tribute bands, but when photographer Mark Bickerdike recommends a band, you know they’re going to be good.
Back at the Kirkgate Community Centre in Shipley last night for a SOLD OUT performance from the brilliant Weetwood Mac.
I knew the hits and enjoyed plenty of songs that I didn’t.
This morning I’ve been delving into their back catalogue. Any favourite albums you can recommend?
Great to bump into Trudy from Vintage-Beau and also Yorkshire’s answer to Sharon Van Etten – Rosie Doonan. If you don’t know her music check her out!

It was lashing it down when we got to Whitby on Saturday afternoon.
Thankfully, we didn’t come for the sunbathing.
We came to dance to some quality soul music across two floors of the Royal Hotel.

What a lovely way to give back to the Leeds community from which they sprang.
A FREE album launch gig, combined with glorious weather, in the Brudenelll car park this afternoon!
Well played @yardactband & @nath_brudenell

Charlotte and I had a brilliant time in Whitby yesterday at the Soul Weekender.
Ten hours of none stop dancing across two rooms – check out the view from the smaller dance floor!
Thanks for the invite Dave Atkinson, Daniel Guest and Marc James.
Great to see King of the Goths, Eddie Piller on top form too!

Our second time watching Pearl Charles last night, this time with a full band, bringing her gorgeous country/disco sound to Leeds.

Third time watching Rowan & Friends last night this year and my very first visit to the 1 in 12 Club in Bradford, and wow – what a special performance!
The new album is fantastic and can't believe how much Cordi sounds like a young Maria Mckee on the track 'One in Eight Billion'.
Good luck tonight as the tour goes on to Coventry and tomorrow in York!
