Loren J (@jforpay_designs ) is an accomplished sewist and designer, with her designs appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race and elsewhere. She’s also a knitter and a staff member at The Dropped Stitch! She’s been on the lookout for a really great bag for carrying projects around, and eventually she decided to make one herself. After months of choosing fabrics and materials, prototyping, sewing, stamping, and road-testing, the Dropped Stitch Crafter’s Bag is ready for showtime. Featuring:

“Mae West Does Beige!”
So happy with the reception to this look, and to be able to help @heyjanedont snatch her second win! She came up with this interpretation of a gown designed by @schiaparelli for Mae West in Every Day’s a Holiday (1937), which is currently in @thevintagecostumecollector ’s collection (check out his post for a beautiful up close look!)
Engineering the collar was by far the biggest challenge— it had to be BIG, and faux fur is super heavy. I’m so glad Jane trusted me to figure out how to do this on a short timeline.

Only @kahmorahall could convince me to attempt a @bobmackie vintage 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘚𝘩𝘰𝘸 recreation (with some drag tweaks) during Pride Month craziness. Good thing I love rainbows and a challenge. Very proud of how this beautiful design came out, and Kahmora wore it beautifully to star in the parade with @nbcchicago .
