I’ve dreamed of someday cracking a 5 minute mile since college. I started taking the idea seriously (not getting any younger here) and training more intentionally back in September. Friday night, under the lights, to my amazement, I crossed the finish line in 4:59.12!!! This winter was long and hard and I’m grateful I had a goal like this to sink my teeth into. Huge thanks to all the friends who offered support, coaching, and companionship along the way, especially those who schlepped out to Randall’s Island to cheer me on Friday, I love you all <3
Important powerlifting update - after ~14 months of work I got into the 1000lb club today!
Squat: 157.5kg (347lbs), PR
Bench: 102.5kg (226lbs), PR
Deadlift: 205kg (452lbs), PR
Total: 465kg (1025lbs)

I don’t usually post stuff like this, but - I’ve been getting into powerlifting since April & last weekend was my first official meet! I went 9/9 on lifts, with new PRs in the squat (125kg/275lbs), bench press (95kg/209lbs), and deadlift (190kg/418lbs). Really surprised myself on the bench and deadlift and beat my goal of 900lbs, 1000 is in sight! Huge thanks to @averyereed@graceflintermann@wolfspritzer for coming to watch, @justbeancamille for the incredible handling on meet day, and to @_thelastbarbender for the coaching and support these last 6 months. 💪♥️
