A score is a contemporary dance improvisational lab and workshop that serves as an ideas exchange with movement artists in real time. . Making Dance (long post + way overdue) I’ve been on an incredible journey working on a documentary project the last 10 months following my dear friend Kayla Farrish into the dance studio and going behind the scenes with her on her creative process. This is my first documentary and it’s been a really affirming, and wild experience. It’s challenged me in many ways, crafting a film is a big big thang! I’ve been really fortunate to work with Kayla and her cast of wildly talented collaborators. Her openness and commitment to her work is all encompassing. It’s been amazing to work with Ashli Bickford as DP she’s brought such wonderful energy on set and into the room on this project and done incredible work behind the lens. Shoutout to borrowing gear from friends and getting encouragement along the way. Project is halfway there, I am deep in the edit! This film like most of my projects has been self funded, but I believe in this work. Liberation is important, freedom is important and Black women practicing, imagining, creating and expirementing in art is vital to the future of society. Will keep yall updated as the project continues!

The last few months have been kind of tumultuous, but really grateful to dance with some friends, take walks around sunset and feel the base line in my bones.
