In 2024, he co-founded 潮電 Bar & Record Store @chaobarrecordstore in Taipei, a vinyl-focused space on Chaozhou Street that has grown into a hub for contemporary electronic music. Through cross-genre DJ sets and carefully curated programming, Jesse continues to shape Taipei’s underground while connecting it to global scenes.
Recorded in Taipei, where the city never really slows down and the future feels close yet slightly out of focus. Amid political unease and constant motion, this mix was made during a personal transition: packing, leaving, and sorting through a suitcase of old family photographs from his late grandfather. The music follows movement rather than destination, built on low frequencies, restrained rhythms, and echoes that linger like memory in transit. Jesse Chen is a prominent figure in Taiwan’s electronic music scene, celebrated for his distinctive style in techno and deep house. In 2019, he co-founded Pleasure Always Brings Pain (PABP) with visual designer Sebastian Wu, establishing a platform that seamlessly merges sound and visual artistry. In 2024, they expanded their vision by opening 潮電Bar&RecordStore in Taipei.
Known for his sultry, dark techno and immersive deep house performances, Jesse captivates Taipei audiences with his embrace of diversity and inclusivity. His meticulously curated sets showcase powerful and intricate deep techno beats, transforming dance floors into vibrant and emotionally charged spaces.

With the imaginative stage design by Lina Hsu and Julia-Carla, we’re extending our hours for a special double birthday celebration of Lina & Jesse.
Resident DJs AP-C and Andy Chiu will set the tone, followed by an Open Deck session, bring your USB or dig from our crates to join the decks.
