NIWA Sustainability, fresh ingredients, and expert execution culminate in a thoughtful dining experience at @restaurantniwa Today we’re joined by @vancouvers_foodbelly to indulge in a vegetable focused rating menu. Niwa has a revolving door of fresh local ingredients that allows the menu to be fluid week by week with some dishes changing by the day. The aesthetic is simple and refined. Sit in a round table for 5 or soak in the execution of the kitchen from the open kitchen bar seats. All in all Niwa is a pleasant treat on the north east side. THANK ME LATER 😎

FOLIETTA BRUNCH The best eggs benny is always a simple one. Perfectly toasted English muffin, soft poached egg, salty ham, masterful hollandaise. @foliettayvr absolutely NAILS the eggs benny. Not to mention the plethora of other brunch staples accompanied but some fun twists like the eggnolotti. Picture pirogies with eggs but swap in an agnolotti. Thick fluffy pancakes, home made sausages, and a massive breakfast sandwich round off the brunch menu. Bring your mom, have a cappuccino, have a time. THANK ME LATER 😎 #brunch

NUI You know if we’re with @chef_alvarez we’re going to have a great time! We indulged in some masterful Korean flavours at @nuivancouver for this feast. So many different textures and accents. Herbs, fermentation, crunch, depth. Cooked and raw dishes to excite the senses. The menu is small enough that you could order the whole thing for 4 people, I’d recommended you do that. Lots of laughs and an exceptional time was had at NUI. THANK @chef_alvarez LATER 😂

LITTLE BIRD How I never knew about @littlebirddimsum until last year is wild to me. At the quiet end of W 4th past MacDonald is this 4 year Bib Gourmand dim sum establishment. All of your dim sum favourites with a few resident staples mixed in. Eating soup dumplings and siu mai brings me back to my childhood eating dim sum with my dad. I’m bringing him here next time I see him for sure. If you want something casual, quick, but high quality, Little bird is the place to be. THANK ME LATER 😎

CHARM I think Kits really needed this. A new, fun, energetic but refined space to enjoy Thai cuisine. The menu has something for everyone. Bring your family, bring a date, bring your vegetarian friends like @shotbydevan This was news to me but apparently that’s how chicken satay is supposed to be served. We’ve just been eating skewers in a plate our whole lives obvious to the wonders of a satay on toast 😂 Wishing much success to our new friends at Charm. THANK ME LATER 😎

THE MEMOIR Not just a cocktail program at a bar seat in a Four Seasons hotel. Not another fancy “to do” or something that comes and goes or just passes by. The Memoir is an experience meant to connect you with moments in time. The way @nils.schabert and his team have carefully curated this experience is extraordinary. Although you can’t hear it in the video, the way he speaks about cocktail curation and the thought process behind this menu is inspiring. Cocktails and mocktails for all beverage enjoyers. Pull up a seat @braidwoodtavern in the @fswhistler and soak in some memories. Cheers. THANK ME LATER 😎

SUSHI HIL First of all, reserve a seat at the sushi bar at @sushihil_restaurant so you can order directly from Chef @sushi_hil . There’s something special about watching a master at work. Meticulously crafting each piece and each dish for your dining pleasure. Limited seats, a warm atmosphere, and situated on a legendary strip of Main Street between 17th and 18th. I know there’s a plethora of sushi spots in the city, but right now, Sushi Hil is my go to. …..ask chef for the eggplant….it might have been the best bite on this particular evening. THANK ME LATER 😎

1 YEAR PT.2 Four more special dishes and four more special restaurants. Our city has so much to offer and we’re on a mission to showcase all of it! On today’s episode: 1. Bar program by my guy @kabirs002 4. Chicago style popcorn @elemvancouver by @vish_mayekar_ “1 year down, 99 to go” was vish’s comment when we walked in, we forge on Chef! ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY PT.1 What a ride it’s been. A year ago my brother @shotbydevan set out on this journey to bring you a weekly food experience centred around some of the best cuisine we could find. 1 year and 52 episodes later, we feel we have the blueprint to take it all over the world. That said, the centre of our universe is this beautiful city we call home, Vancouver, BC. The dishes have been fantastic, but, the people we’ve met along the way are the most special to us. CHUPITO The spirit of Mexico City lives at @chupitococteleria Flavours are abound with richness and bright accents. Eric absolutely crushes the bar program with arguably the best mocktails in the city (No, seriously) @__taradavies is an unrivalled GEM of the Vancouver hospitality scene, to know her is to love her. You can hear her voice expertly explaining each dish on today’s episode. FOLIETTA My friend and favourite italiano @mynameisjunk said he had a phenomenal meal at @foliettayvr so naturally I had to bring him back to indulge. Rich pastas, tonnato over tuna, legendary focaccia, and a creamy polenta all came together for a fantastic meal. @shotbydevan had to endure a high level of not-so intellectual banter while manning the camera 😂 The staff and overall hospitality was spot on as well. Put Folietta on your Italian eateries list. THANK ME LATER 😎
